Checking email? (minor spoiler maybe)

So I'm on day 3 (has happened on day 2 before) and I hear the laptop whining at me with that annoying AOL "You've got mail" voice. But when I check the computer I can't do anything with it except stare at a webpage with info on the house.
I've tried pressing multiple buttons but get nothing except to leave the lappy alone. Is this a bug/glitch or is there something I'm supposed to do with it? (press a certain button sequence, wait "x" amount of seconds, etc)

Yeah, it's a glitch that we're working on fixing. Sometimes it goes away when you try interacting with it, and other times it doesn't. We're not sure what causes this, but it's on our list. Sorry you encountered it!

I blame Photoshop an iTunes... (had some fun trying to see what the task bar icons were :P)
