save in this game i thought it was when i went to sleep?

There is no save function (currently) I believe, you play until you finish or until you die.

Sleeping as it says in game simply triggers a new day with newly generated hauntings in addition to recharging your battery.

You are correct!

There is currently no save system, because at this point in the game you really don't need one. The game goes by really quickly. You probably only have 30 minutes of playtime at most. (Not including any time you may spend on the menu screen if you need to take a breather.)

I believe we're going to implement one when the House 2.0 patch rolls out because the house will be larger (yet appropriately scaled), and the unabridged version will be longer. You can read about the future update here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/246300/discussions/0/648814395731620945/
