Options menu crashes the game

For some reason, opening the in-game options menu causes my game to crash. Here's a list of steps I take to get there.

1) Launch from Steam
2) Since it launches in windowed mode, I go to the resolution menu
3) Select 1366x768 and fullscreen since that's closest to my monitor's native resolution (1440x900)
4) Once in the game, hit esc, click options, and the game drops back to windowed mode, shows the resolution screen and a non-functioning cursor, and crashes. I have to close it with Task Manager.

I'm able to reproduce the crash every time I play. In addition, the game loads extremely slowly, taking up to five minutes to actually get in-game. My computer does meet the recommended specs, but the loading seems to hang for several minutes, especially when the second and third bars on the load screen come up.

This is a huge bummer because this is my first early access game and I was hoping I wouldn't be one of those rare people who ends up paying for a game and finding that it doesn't work for them.

I'm so sorry the game is giving you these issues! The menu is definitely not great. I'd recommend uninstalling the game, then reinstalling it (to clear any corrupt menu values). Once you've done that, open the game. Once on the main menu, press '~' and type (without quotes): "setres 1440x900x32f" and press enter. If you'd prefer windowed mode, replace the 'f' with 'w'.
