So 3 raiders drop into my space area, outside ... right outside this derelict i was making my security guys group near and it was in firing range of 3 of my turrets. They killed every single security person except one .... Ummm I have the body armor and phazer rifle upgrades completed .... But with fire support and higher numbers I guess they still just♥♥♥♥♥♥me sideways. I kinda of had to rage quit after that. One time before I had 8 security with just the body armor, and one or two turrets inside my base, and the 2 raiders wiped out my whole crew .... WTF security USELESS!

I had an encounter with 2 raiders one time. The had their ship attached to mine. they walked into the hall attached to my base, and I sealed the door to my base adn sealed the oxygen of said room. They stood there and suffocated. Later, at the same base 2 raiders drilled into my pub with a breaching ship. By then I had like 24+ people, so everyone mobbed up on them. My security people shot lazers, but I think the raiders were mainly brought down my the many people punching them in the face at the same time.

the problem is largely that the turrets don't work on raiders. or aliens. or docked "visitors". enemy ships, asteroids, anything.

It will usually take 3-4 crew per raider. it's faster to vent them into space.

one would imagine getting hit with a turret designed to destroy ships would be less like a slap in the face, but the NPCs can walk past most turrets and not get hit more than once.

instead, work on building a base that can seal itself into small sections, and long corridors for turrets, outside of the rooms (also helps when breach visitors decide to take a chunk out of your base)

the cute way to say hello is to hit the alarm in crew occupied rooms to get them out,

then seal the rooms when empty, and seal the corridors to keep the crew in the airtight section, behind locked doors with alarms, and o2 sealed rooms with heavy doors.

then, either dissolve the door or the wall to space if it's a visiting ship/derelict, or open the airlocks. sometimes you may have to dezone an airlock in order to open the doors on derelicts or owned aeas that you didn't construct (a glitch),

dezoning an airlock lets you manually open the airlock doors, but it prevents you from getting into the ship without a beacon.

once it's done, open an airlock door and open all the doors from the breach area, to drop the o2 for that open area.

you may need to "redirect" raiders who get sidetracked, they will shoot anything on their path that's locked, shooting locked doors on side corridors, don't lock doors if you can, just set up buffer zones with alarms to move them away and towards your ambush/open door sucking air into space death trap
