Crash to desktop upon loading saved game
As soon as I load a game (a bit after Death Tower) I crash to desktop? Is this a somewhat known issue I don't know about? If so could someone hook me up with the solution?

Haven't tried locating the save files and uninstall/reinstall yet, but have done quite a bit of searching. I don't want to potentially risk having to start all the way over if I don't have to quite yet.

Such a drag, doesn't look like there's any support for this game anywhere, either.

start a new game and try to stop syncing with the cloud and leave your savegames on your pc.
i know it´s sad losing all the progress.. happened to me 2.. was lvl 29... but until now there´s no fix for this problem.. only this workaround..... and to be honest i do not believe there will ever be a fix :-(

Not easily finding a cloud option, I'd guess it's in the Uplay interface somewhere?

Nevermind found it :B

Hmmm just got stung by this... not happy :( Ive since deactivated uplay cloud syncing.

Does anyone know if the save game is able to be recovered?
Or where the save games are located so I can back them up?
Besides the kick in the teeth that is losing a save game, I dont have as much time as i used to to replay games :(

In the Uplay interface, find the settings. In there is the ability to uncheck the cloud service. Until you do this your saves are not local, so you can't migrate them or recover them. But once you do disable/uncheck the cloud option everything is fine. Sucks to have to replay (again) but there's no other option.

From Steam Discussions about Assassin’s Creed Unity (it can refer to all Uplay DRM game swith Uplay Cloud support and also other Uplay games maybe):

Turbid TG1:
'Can't synchronize my cloud saves.
I was in Sequence 6 and now I might have lost all of my progress.'

pyradius:
'That sucks, I had to turn off the cloud syncing myself earlier and had lost progress, losing 6 sequences would suck pretty badly. Here was the info I got from Ubisoft:

"The cloud servers check file information when syncing and will update to the latest used profile. This information is synced to the cloud upon closing your game. Unfortunately, there is no way to manually download a savegame file from the servers.

Unfortunately, if your save file is not available in-game, there is no way to recover the data. I recommend that you disable the cloud sync feature via the Uplay Client options to prevent any future issues.

I also recommend that you use a third-party game save manager such as GameSave Manager in case the issue reoccurs:

http://www.gamesave-manager.com/

We have forwarded similar instances up to our development teams for further review, and I apologize for any inconvenience."

He didn't tell me where the data is stored, but it might the the data inside:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames '
