Wiz8 is one of my all time favorite RPG round based games. It aged good, the only minor gripe is that it doesnt really support widescreen (the game is stretched from 4:3 aspect) - you can play with black borders (left+right) - but who wants to play such a great game with such a limitation?

This is the normal 4:3 aspect:

Anyway, i took a deeper look into the binary and its graphic engine and i might have stumbled on the right thing:

its my first draft, havent tested much yet, its still alpha. The GUI will obviously still stretch but the 3D world now has widescreen.

EDIT2: Here is a new version which should resolve the conflict introduced by the cosmic forge mod. - if you just use vanilla wiz8 just use the first version.

I did finish it, but there was basically no interest so i never made the final steps to make a releasable format.

Trust me, there will be interest in this. You should post it on RPG Codex or something, Steam subforums for older games like this are always quiet.

PLEASE look into releasing this, I'd love to replay Wiz8 in widescreen without stretching

i did post it to rpg codex wizardry thread (http://www.rpgcodex.net/forums/index.php?threads/wizardry-8-enhancements.79581/page-16) - same deal - there is really no interest (i was puzzled about this too) - if there would be more demand i would put some more effort into it to release it

There is some serious but silent demand on adequate widescreen for good old Wizardry 8 ;)

Please? Just because there's no-one posting on the net it doesn't mean that there's not people who would use it if it existed.

So people who went looking for WS solution for Wiz8 would find it.

I agree with the sentiments of some others on here, I think alot of people would be interested and download this. Make a thread over on GOG aswell, you might get some good constructive feedback there, perhaps even a sticky.

Also, I take it that the game doesn't enjoy alt-tabbing? It disables any form of keyboard input when you alt-tab back.
