It's a melee/platforming game, without much depth to either aspect. You fight robots while a beautiful companion drags you around to fulfill her goals. It's very similar to the 2008 Prince of Persia, but far more linear and less fluid. The core game lasts around 6-8 hours, repetitive scenarios and simplified gameplay make it seem a lot longer.
A lot has been made of the acting, but the mo-cappers are over-qualified for the kind of "go here, push button" mechanics that drive the narrative action in these type of games, and it ends up feeling heavy handed much of the time given that there's so little to work with.
The PC port is poor. I encountered frequent stuttering during cutscenes and ended up having to skip most to watch on Youtube later, further stuttering occurs whenever you hit a checkpoint. A graphical glitch renders shadows on characters poorly, spoiling an otherwise good looking game.
I can't recommend Enslaved, while it has some strong suits, they're few and far between the long stretches of climbing in one direction and samey robot brawls. If you must experience it, do so on a console to avoid any potential headaches, or just watch the movie edit on Youtube.
