Please could someone describe how well enslaved works with keyboard and mouse?
Is it well done, or is a controller a must?

I haven't bought this on PC yet, but from my experience on the XBox, this is a VERY controller-friendly game. There's a lot of button-mashing combat. I couldn't imagine playing this with kb/m, but then I bought a controller for my PC gaming a long time ago and I haven't looked back.
Thanks for your input, but my question is mainly because I don't have a controller.
Well, you can feel that it is emulating a control with the mouse (it's not as perfect as Max Payne / Quake for eg) but considering that it's emulating the controller it works VERY well personally I'm using a controller because I like chilling while playing platformers. BUT don't le that dishearten you it's VERY well done with the mouse and you won't have any issues such as lag or clunkyness. It feels tight enough, just not perfect. If I had to score the mouse controls I'd say 7.5/10.
Vene, thanks for that.
I guess there's a bit of mouse acceleration and camera hijack then?
It has TERRIBLE negative mouse acceleration. However, I am on Windows 8.1 and it has problems with the mouse in some games. So it could just be an 8.1 problem. I'm going to downgrade to Windows 8 later today so I'll report back later today.

For now I would hold of on purchasing it if you don't have a controller. I'm extremely picky when it comes to mouse movement so I'll be sure to let you know.

THAT is the kind of answer I was looking for. Thank you wasups.
I think I'm just as fussy as you.

I got a refund for max payne 3 because it had negative mouse acceleration. It drives me nuts!
More and more games have it because, as vene says, they map mouse to joysticks, hence negative acceleration.

Right, this'll be staying on the wishlist until it gets a patch, or I get a controller.
I run Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit , have no problems , if you plan on playing as Pigsy in " Pigsy's Perfect 10 " I highly recommend a controller as the keyboard controls are totally ridiculous . They did not keep the same config as for Monkey and it is really annoying to try and get use to control config .
Hi Rhee,
Could you elaborate on the keyboard controls for me?
I'm genuinely interested in what it's like.
The Monkey keyboard config is excellent , E=action , F=heavy attack , E+F=FocusAttack , left mouse button to fire , right mouse button to aim Plasma / EMP shots . Hold left mouse button to charge up the Battle Staff and immobilize enemy with an EMP blow .

For Pigsy , it is a totally different story , really crappy config , right mouse button to aim rifle , C key on keyboard to aim using scope , E=use grappling hook / hand , V=crouch , Depress middle mouse button to aim Distract / EMP / Mine / FriendMine orbs , " Shift key " to throw or drop mentioned Orbs or Mine . It is a really confusing config after playing game with the Monkey config , which is pretty well setup like many shooters or market .

Keyboard and mouse work amazing, when I try to change keybinds the game crashes, when I try to use the default keys and press space ingame the game crashes AMAZING GAME refund plz.
Played 10 minutes with m&kb, now breaking out the controller...this is not as bad as Dark Souls for jerky mouse camera controls but definitely distracting. And by god, who on the developement team thought that this much motion blur was acceptable? Disabling that first.
Many thanks for the info!
I hesitating buying this... even if it hits the daily or flash sales.

After some ini tweaks I'm happy to say this is turned out better than I first thought. Using 4xSGSSAA and removing the motion blur has improved things immensely. If you have Nvidia card, use Inspector, add a new profile for Enslaved and use 0x080010C1 bit to enable SGSSAA, I used 4xMSAA + 4xSGSSAA and huge improvement in visable aliasing. I also tried using SMAA with SweetFX and that worked as well.

Mouse improved by editing the MonkeyInout.ini file and setting;

bEnableMouseSmoothing=False

Motion blur was disabled in the MonkeyEngine.ini file by setting ;

MotionBlur=False
MotionBlurPause=False

Much improved for me. Hope this helps.
