I'm about to reach that milestone as well. It is a great challenge!

Really sucks when you die on 24 because you walked too close to the edge and missed the jump to the portal, though... That happened to me twice. xD

Sometimes you die and there's a good reason why that happened - you humbly accept it, reflect on the experience and become a better player. USUALLY you die and it's because you were just being a dumbass. You rage and little or nothing is gained. At least that's how it is with me lol. :P

In this game every single death is your fault. The controls are 100% responsive, no camera angles to blame either, that's what I'm liking about it so much. It also has speed running engrained into its core design (which is fantastic). Having both a level reset and a chekpoint button are things that I wish were present in most games these days.

Edit: There's only 1 level that features cheap and unfair deaths and that's 2-14. Once you collect all the runes there's this random shaking that renders the game completley unresponsive and randomized.

Ah crap. I was writing up a response, to pick your mind on whether difficulty can reach a level at which it is just unreasonable, citing a jump in the stage Ol' Ball and Chain which pretty much requires a perfect arc. "I don't think you can be skilled enough to be accurate within, say, a hundredth of a second and so I don't think it's really your fault if it's essentially down to luck". But then I recalled that I actually succeeded in the majority of attempts which were the first in a sitting. I must have consistently been doing something right at those times... But I have absolutely no idea what that was or why it would diminish so rapidly in successive attempts. Damn, it could do me a lot of good to know - come to think of it. Oh well. Mystery!

When I got it, my character proceeded to get stuck in a wall right afterwards and die...

I know this is a late response, but oh well. :P

That's a sign that this game is good. Really good. Because there ARE jumps that are just close to impossible to make (At first). But then, once you get it, and start getting it worked into muscle memory, then this impossible jump suddenly becomes one of the smoother parts of your run. It takes really, REALLY good balancing to get that - not just so that it's possible - but so that people pick up on it before they quit in frustration.

All you were experiencing (I'm guessing) was burnout. Past a certain point (In anything: Video games, sports, practicing an instrument), you just start getting sloppy. At this point, it's best to set it down, take a break, and come back later. When you do, you'll be a lot better, just because you had time to relax and recover.

I have make several times 24 portals(gates), but every time I arrive on a level where Scrolling catches up me :( this is Imposible

@daniiiiiiiii: Don't give up! If you've made it to 24 that many times, you're bound to find yourself there again and again, far more often than many people. One of those times you will succeed; it's only a matter of time. :D

@Shadowspaz: As mundane as it seems (almost unattractively so) I'm recognizing it was a sort of burnout, after all. Which is a good, albeit slightly unusual, lesson in itself ... it's funny what you can learn from games such as ESJ. I must note though, you really have a formidable accumulation of achievements over a ridiculous variety of games! I admire that. :P

Hahaha, that's what happens when an achievement whore develops a taste for original concepts. I don't even have a favorite genre anymore. :P
