The only compromise I can think of is drastically speeding up the Fraud Detection Warning for YOLO gem users. Just because you use YOLO, doesn't mean you get a free pass to avoiding fraud detection -- there are plenty of frauds that use YOLO, and the game correctly recognizes that.
True, it stopped me from doing YOLO mode story on the 3rd or 4th match because I was sick of hearing it and it delaying the match for too long.
The best solution would be the either remove the starting detection but still allow the stamp to fraud stamp the user of it, or speed up the warning so that it doesn't affect the flow of the game so much.
However, that said, it doesn't affect it that much if it's a normal game without the gem, so maybe the former rather than the latter would be best.
For a game that has great fast and curious combat, the other parts (menus, interface flow) feel a bit clunky in comparison. Like, wouldn't it be great if when one person hits rematch and the other goes to char select that the rematching person would have their cursor start on their char/gem/color from the match? Little things like that.
On one side, it should be removed or sped up because it's a hassle and slows things down.
On the other side, if you go Yolo and lose in the first round, you are a Grade A fraud. Your opponent deserves to have the game detect if there's a fraud warning.
I can see this being met halfway: One iteration of FRAUD DETECTION WARNING would speed it up greatly compared to what it is now, while still keeping the same vibe.
i like how long it is right now, when i earn it (not from a yolo gem) because I can get my wife's attention and she can see it. then she can watch me lose 5 in a row.
Try getting the perfection achievement to complete story mode with yolo gem, your opinion will change.
I have just completed the Yolo gem in campaign (as Kick). And, damn, I was about to give up several times, just because of the waiting time, every time I loose. Especially in the last part. From you lose, and until you are ready to play again, you have to wait 15 seconds! (no S-H-I-T, I have counted...) And alone the Fraud Detection Warning + "Death From Above-Round X-Divekick" takes over 8 seconds. And the "Death From Above-Round X-Divekick"-thing already takes too long, IMO.
In my fight against S-Kill, I play about 30 rounds, before I win. And I think I used about 66 % of the time on waiting. That demands you to be a patient person...
BTW, I had already turned the sound off, before I came to S-kill...
