APP_ERROR: Invalid surface size (eSurface.cpp, 391)

Game crashes cause of the reason no fix for it can be found.
I tried:

Safemode
Reinstalling twice
reinstall video settings

(PS: Before update it is normaly working but with update it just crashes.)

And yes newest version of vc_redist is installed.

same I was playing fine then yesterday my power went out after that every time i loaded the game it crashes

Since the upgrade, I too have been having crashes. I deleted all local content and re-downloaded game, still crashing :

I deleted all of mods too, I stopped most of the processes running Game Booster. All games played with no problems at high settings on previous version. I lLowered settings to low and still crashes....
My computer specs :
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5200+ (2 CPUs), ~2.6GHz
4096MB RAM - 4 gig memory
Windows 10
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950
I hope there is somne type of resolution to this problem as this is a great game and now unable to play. Had no problems playing previous version.....

Same, made another thread about it. Only rollback works, my 3 friends have no issues. Its pretty annoying

Okay, my game was having the same problem in till now. It seems to be working quite well. I have no idea what I did. Try disabling your steam cloud and uninstall all mods?
I honestly don't know.

right click on mow2 in you steam library - properties - betas - change "opt out of all betas" to "previous patch" or something like that.
Download of previous patch should start automatically

ahh! installing the previous patch kind of worked! only now it crashes when i exit a skirmish game and then my pc gets stuck in a sound loop afterwards! so there is progress?

It worked!Thank you so much.maybe this is the only way to play the game before another patch fix the problem.
