Two things need fixing before I will play this game.

Optimisation - Even with a decent graphics card this game runs poorly.

Free roam control - I shouldn't have to hold right click constantly to play this game like any other video game in the first person perspective. Pointing to the edge of the screen to change your perspective is clunky and off-putting.

This is a shame because I've never played the myst series before and this is a genre I'm interested in. Please patch/update this.

There are known issues with Intel-based graphics cards. I don't have any such issue on the former point with my AMD.
The latter isn't entirely true; you only need to RMB/edgescroll while standing still. If you move the mouse while walking, you change your facing.

in a point and click game full free rome has huge issues.
while for pepole who have played it in the past are fine and it gives them more to see for new players it makes it harder and more fustarting.
i have pepole play nyst all the time. those who play it for the first time using free rome mode or befor this the other real myst tend to not like it. they feel all the puzzles are more obscure and it feels more like pixel hunting then puzzle solving

this is becuse controlling where the camera can look helps tell the user whats importent without being to obviuos.

i have played myst and riven nearly 100(i replayed them over and over as a kid like other kids replayed the same movie do) times and exile and revlations 20 times each.
if it was not for knowing where to look finding where to look in real myst is alot harder. now you want to remove the way the mouce works that helps hunt for things to click on even further.

just play it in clasic mode

@Yoshimi, probably should have meantioned this earlier but if you have not already done so make sure that windows and your drivers are up-to-date. Not sure if it will help but can't hurt.

I'm waiting to play it as well. For these graphics the performance is simply unacceptable. I GET BETTER FPS in Skyrim with 2xMSAA, SMAA Medium, 50+ modules including most of the major ones like texture, water, and lighting overhauls. Plus HUGE ini tweaks to rendering.

YEAH. This game is pathetic. I can't even run 1080p with SMAA on High to get decent framerate without huge drops in many places.

Can't even get decent frames with R9 290 in crossfire.. Hope the update will improve the current state of the game. Picked it up when it released in february and have barely touched it.

Hardly anyone seems to have barely touched it unless they love jaggies, poor FPS, or just have a god beastly setup.

Doing "Run as Windows XP (SP3)" and "Run as Administrator" on windows 8.0 gave me 20-50 more FPS. Posting this here as well.
