- Exploration in this game is quite hard if you are used to "Follow" point on the HUD. There is no simple indicator where to go next, so you need to be prepared for lots of exploration. Exploration hovewer is highly rewarded, with bonus items, levels and interesting sidequests and powers
- Combat is hard, but only if you are not prepared for it.There is cooking/crafting mechanic, that will make your game much easier. With good set of items in case, you will be able to heal and defence yourself with ease.
- No Quick saves. You are allowed to save only at Red Crystals. There are plenty of them, but you need to remember to save or else continuing can be painful.
- There are lots of sources of healing. Plant, food, sea creatures, saving... This may help.
- Most bosses are puzzle bosses. No need for extreme skill in kind of Super Meat Boy.
Conclusion: If your mind is up to date and running, this won't be a very hard game. This is an awesome adventure, but...
"Adventure is not fun, if it is too easy" - Sonic, from Sonic Generations
Because some people have responsibilities and if they don't reach a save point, say for example if they are playing right before having to leave for work, then they'll have to restart their progress.
And if anyone is thinking of pulling the, "well you shouldn't be playing before going to work then," line... well obviously if someone wanted to play games before work, then this obviously that would creat the lack of appeal. -_-
There is a fast travel system. Ancient Turtles.
Yep. There is only few of them, but It do the job.
I take care and for now I'm able to manage my resources well, but sometimes it is tiring to restart the last checkpoint because of some considerable mistake. quicksaves would be useful.
Really? Where? O__o
Ecco the dolphin meets super metroid with Bangai-o's combat system kind of.
So yes I would say the difficulty elevates as the game progresses.
Also, horrifying.
The lack of quick-saving is fine by me - I've ruined files in other games by saving at a bad time before, and the save crystals are pretty well placed.
