I Would prefer to buy a DRM free version of the game but.....
The link for the Windows version seems to be broken on the Bit Blot site.....is it just me?

Unfortunately, it seems like so. But feel free to just download a community edition binary and use your existing Steam data with it.

Ah....so it basically liberates the copy made from the Steam versions files? How else is it different?

It has updated code and scripts, so in other words, a bunch of bug fixes. There's no Steam integration (i.e. no Steam achievements, only ones kept track locally), but being DRM free, you would expect that.

You can go to www.humblebundle.com and buy a DRM-Free version, and even one for your cellphone.
