Master List of Invisible Inc Fixes
I figured I'd create a master post to correlate any fixes for Invisible Inc

I haven't heard about too many systemic issues with the game in Early Access but it's always good to have some basic troubleshooting stuff

Also the first pass is very Windows centric. I'll add more Mac/Linux related clarifications as time goes on.

Update your video drivers

It's always a good idea to update your video drivers.

How to force your AMD/Nvidia Card on Laptops

Laptop users should force Invisible Inc to use the AMD/Nvidia card instad of the integrated one

Nvidia:

* Right click your desktop
* NVIDIA Control Panel ->
* Manage 3D Settings ->
* Program Settings.
* Find the Invisible Inc executable
* Then 2. Select High Performance NVIDIA Processor.

AMD:

This depends on the AMD chipset

* Right click your desktop
* Catalyst Control Center
* Graphics -> Powerplay
* Set to "Maximum Performance"

OR

1. Open up CCC (Mobility)
2. Go to "Power > Switchable Graphics Method"
3. Tick "Select the graphics processor manually or based on power source." and click "Apply"
4. A new option would (and should) appear under Power. This is "Power > Switchable Graphics" which was previously unavailable.
5. In here, there should be a two buttons under "Choose a Graphics Processing Unit:". Click on "High-performance GPU".
6. A confirmation should pop up asking if you want to confirm the change. Click on "Change". You may experience your screen flickering a bit. This is normal. Your computer is switching to the AMD GPU.

Updating Intel Video Cards

Often times your laptop manufacturer will come with some custom Intel video drivers. Odds are these haven't been updated since your laptop came out! If you try to update from intel.com it usually gives you an error saying the drivers are custom and cannot be installed.

You can install the latest Intel drivers by removing the old ones and reinstalling:

  • Uninstall your existing Intel drivers
  • REBOOT
  • Install drivers from www.intel.com
  • REBOOT
That should update you to the latest version from Intel

Windows XP is not officially supported

XP is unsupported and the game won't run on XP. You'll need to upgrade to Vista or above.

My Screen or Parts of the Game Look Cut Off or Fullscreen Looks Weird

This is related to Windows DPI Scaling. You can disable this for Invisible Inc by:

1) Find the Invisible, Inc. executable "invisibleinc.exe"
  • Right click Invisible, Inc. in the Steam game library
  • Choose Properties
  • Click the Local Files tab.
  • Click Browse Local Files
2)Disable Display Scaling
  • Right click invisibleinc.exe
  • Choose Properties
  • Click the Compatibility tab
  • Make sure "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" is checked.

Getting a White Menu Screen In Linux

Go to

~/.local/share/Klei/InvisibleInc/settings/settings.lua

Set the line "table [ "enableBloom" ]" to "false".

Reinstall vcredist and DirectX

Try reinstalling vcredist and DirectX from

c:\program files\steam\steamapps\common\Invisible Inc\_CommonRedist\

Please reboot after you perform this step.

Run Steam as an Administrator

Run Steam as an Administrator on your computer then relaunch the game

I've done something weird with the video options and now the game won't launch!

Don't panic! Go to

My Documents\Klei\settings\

Delete the settings.lua file and restart the game

Verify the Integrity of the Game Cache

Very rarely your installation may become corrupted. In order to reinstall the game without having to download everything all over again:

  • Go to your Steam Library
  • Right click -> Properties on Darkest Dungeon
  • Click the "Local Files" tab
  • Click on the "Verify Integrity of Game Cache..." button

Where is the Soundtrack

The soundtrack is being uploaded to Steam. No ETA yet but you will get it.

Reporting Bugs

Sometimes things go wrong with software. That's the nature of the beast and Incognita can't fix everything. In order to best help the devs quickly identify and resolve your issues please as detailed information as possible

System Configuration: You should provide OS/video card/CPU with your report. If you're not sure what these are you can go to Steam and go to Steam->Help->System Information. Paste that in so the devs can see your system configuration.

Bug Details: When reporting bugs/crashes etc please be as detailed as possible. "It doesn't work" isn't going to get your issue resolved. Any information is helpful. What action were you doing? When did it crash? What error messages did you get? Do you have a screenshot of the bug? More information is always better. Remember the devs have to recreate your bug from your report.

While bugs and crashes are frustrating please be patient and respectful when reporting issues. Klei is here for the long haul and for the community.

Can't find a single "Invisible Inc. fix" in your list of masterfully copy & pasted instructions of video driver updates.

Right now its mostly a generic list of stuff people should do. You'd be surprised how many people run 5 year old drivers and are shocked when games don't work. Also people with laptops seem to never force their video cards either. It's Generic but just doing video driver updates fixes a lot of issues out of the gate.

There are a few very specific thing concerning Invisible Inc like XP support and manually resetting your config. I also like to outline how to report issues especially using Steams System Information function. Which helps users get their system information.

I suspect once the game is released there will be a few Mac and Linux based issues that might need addressing as well. But maybe not. Hopefully this guide will be redundant. But you just never know

In any case it's just a way to help new players into the game if they have technical problems.

Is there a website where we should submit the bugs we find? The game seems to read my mouse or something skewing the screen left - I can't actually focus on anything and need a place to report it.

Kleis main forums have a bug reporting sub-forum. I would submit any bugs you have there.
