Yeah, i was thinking the same. The first videos looked terrible, but now i´m actually interested in the game. Also, character designs are awesome.

Hmmm... it looked like a lot of the hits lacked any sort of impact and just go through the enemy (when the spider thing got hit by a two handed weapon, it looked like it got tapped lightly by a nerf sword).
The daggers seem to strike air instead of striking the enemy most of the time, or just pass through without any sort of impact, like you are a ghost.

I really enjoyed Mars: War Logs, it had a cool story/setting and the combat suited the game well, but this just looks like a generic fantasy game with floaty combat.

the combat doesnt lack the impact that apparently it once did, those demos show people falling to the ground, getting pushed around, losing your footing on offensive extending as well as defensive. While it isnt as responsive as it could be (using rag doll positioning and comparing entry and exit points to candidate pre-generated animations), it is still near the front of the pack when compared to its current and upcoming release peers.

By comparison, Dark souls 2 has faux impact responses: you roll under attacks that might actually have passed right through you, while other times your arms bounce up in response to blocking a forceful attack that seemed not to be successfully blocked. From casual video searches it seems that DS2 has worse impact responsiveness. Clearly no physics is involved. Dark Souls 2 seems to have much stricter stamina in the combat though, in single encounters I've seen video of people running out of that second bar — each game has its advantages.

The gameplay looks very good and interresting. It is good to see developpers actually care about the game they are making instead of aiming to sell only. Gamers lost passion for the good old combat feel in the game that we used to see in past single player games!

Been really enjoying the game so far, good job, Spiders. And some of the dialogue is downright hilarious too. :)
