who remembers this growing up
teachers use to have every one put the orange skins on the keys so that every one cant see the keys and when the teacher wasnt looking lift up the flap so that u can see the the keys and act like u did it with it. growing up would of been much beter if they used typing of the dead instead i ♥♥♥♥ing hated mavis beacon

Typing of the dead and many internet forums is where I learned how to type properly. I do remember those orange skins, never had to peek at the keys as I had home row keys down already before those classes.

That sounds like a very scary situation indeed and its blind typing. Something I did not experience growing up when I was in class however the test administrator looked to see if I was looking at the keyboard while typing and that resulted in a deduction of technical points. I however passed the elementary school requirement for keyboarding and had a certificate on the wall to boot.

MAAAAN I remember a few versions of this game. I never saw the 2011 version but I'm guessing it's the same stuff and mini games and music and everything.

Actually I'm legally blind, so I couldn't see the keys to begin with. The good thing though is that because of that, I have all the keys memorized in my head... sadly I couldn't really see the screen so I couldn't really do well in this game either... xD Oh well, I learned to type regardless, so I guess someone or something was doing their/its job.

Wait, if you're blind, how do you see the screen...? Text to speech?
I still remember one variant of mavis where a game(The chemistry one I believe.) would give you 100+wpm with 100% accuracy by spamming space.

My mother made me do this almost every Saturday. I eventually learned how to type by playing Peasant's quest, but to this day she still hovers over her keyboard and poke-types.
