Mute the game in your windows sound setting, play your own music.

While I found no way to disable music in-game (that would be a convenient feature), I did find a way to disable music everywhere except in the pause menu.

Go to your Poof directory (so find your Steam directory, then navigate to steamapps -> common -> Poof -> Content -> GAME -> ZONES -> 0.

Proceed to edit Music.xml (e.g. with Notepad). Just in case, you should make a copy of the file before editing.
You'll see a typical XML structure with named brackets like <Volume>0.5</Volume>. Proceed to replace all the numbers between the Volume brackets with zeroes, i.e. 0, so the whole should now look like <Volume>0</Volume>. Save and enjoy the game without music.

For whatever reason it will play in the pause menu anyway, so that setting seems to be located elsewhere. That ought to be not as large a problem though.

I should add to clarify: this way you retain sound effects. Only the music will be disabled.

lol...thats alot of work to turn the damn music off...come on devs just put the option in...some of us like our own music and shouldn't be forced to listen to your soundtrack!

The more you play, you unlock more music tracks. Personaly I find the music to be pretty good, and it goes good with the game
