So I was playing this wonderful game of mine here, & I was trying to get a clean game: as in, no deaths. But then I came upon a town, with only 2 robots on patrol. I thought that the moment was ideal since I would easily take down 2 separate robots. So I killed one of them in the back with an axe, but he did indeed fire 2 rounds before I got him, thus alerting the other robot. I didn't see this as a problem since all I'd need to do is make him miss the 2 shots from his DOUBLE barreled shotgun. So I took cover behind a tree, did a little peek-a-boo thing so he fires the 2 bullets, both missing me. So when he was "reloading" I charged him, but then he magically had 4 bullets in his DOUBLE-Barreled shotgun, & kills me dead. So this is something I'd call ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, since he's carrying a double-barreled shotgun. Now, if I knew that they could have infinite rounds & never had to reload, I'd not complain, but this is plainly stupid. Either they get a bottomless clip or actually make them reload when they should. What is making me so pissed about this is that I had made it far on my "death-free" turn. So please, if the developers are reading this, please make it so that the f-ing robots actually has the amount of rounds according to the weapon they have. Sincerely

Are you absolutely sure the weapon was a double barrel? And also that it wasn't some made up weapon with perhaps 4 barrels? Some of the weapons I've found looked a little fictional.
Well, since they all are carrying 1 gun only & this gun is a double-barreled shotgun, so yes, I'm 110% sure that it's a double-barreled shotgun.
(I know this since they all have the same gun & when you pick it up if it doesn't get destroyed it's a double-barreled shotgun)

I was just complaining that they should have the ammo to actually resemble the gun they're using. Just my opinion.

I know, was just joking. I have no idea why this happened but I can see it being frustrating. Good that you're giving feedback so that they can look into why this happened and fix it. I have had similar things happening, where robots appear to have three shots and such, all while I have been trying to make them shoot by ducking in and out of cover.
Well, I'd consider it a minor issue & of course, it can easily be avoided. But I think that this is the type of game that follows the "rules" so to say. You know, with the game mechanics feeling "realistic" at some degree. As in AI's having to reload, AI's npt being to overpowered & detects you from 10000 feet away, & all & more things that makes the game feel realistic, at some degree. Of corse, Steampunk robots chasing you down in an imaginary island is not what people would call "realistic" but then, features that follow certain rules is what makes the realistic feel.

Nope, they don't use them. And how would that explain firing two shots in rapid succession and having a third one loaded just as he pops out of cover? It wouldn't.
It was a good guess though.
Wait wait wait, stop a sec guys... I believe that the bottomless ammo-counts and the fact that I may have, JUST A LITTLE BIT, might have possibly... lost our stock of ammo a few days ago are no mere coincidence!

I think those dastardly gents are onto us and our stockpiling deeds!

Seriously though, nice bug find! I hope the devs hear about this soon!

Also, great job @ the devs for such an awesomely heart-attack inducing game!
