Suggestions
Game is great so far, has a lot of promise. I'm not read up on what your going to be doing with it, but I have a few suggestions. I love stealth games, but these are just suggestions, so take them as you will.

1. A point/perk Deus Ex-ish style system? For me there is no goal to collect these fragments other than thats what I'm supposed to do, so what if different sized fragments gave you points to spend on things. faster crouch speed, inventory increase, running speed, gun damage, more ammo from dead robots, ect.

2. Faster sneak speed. please god. even if its just an upgrade you can get, please christ. You are so slow that I'll just say ♥♥♥♥ it and start running across fields.

3. A backstab mechanic? A Thief style blackjack or emp hammer or somesuchthing. I havent found any good melee weapons, so i havent really tried, so iit may already be in there.

4. Robot strongholds. Towns with more metal and security system. Has great loot, maybe exp rewards. Perhaps could be tied into side missions.

5. Side missions. Youre alone so no contact with outside world and that, but maybe some notes left on doors in town?

My thoughts:

1. This is kinda here nor there for me, honestly. I wouldn't hate it if it was in, but it doesn't seem that necessary. I'd rather if there were upgrades have it be based on a crafting system or something.
2. Weeeeelll, sneak being slow is the point. :P It's supposed to make you think exactly that. Can you risk running? Should you move super slow everywhere? etc.
3. I think some people have said that you can do this with the axe?
4. Both of the new biomes actually sound kinda like this. One's industrial and one's a giant castle. As far as an actual stronghold, maybe? Could be a cool challenge. I'd like to at least see certain unique buildings and locations, that'd be pretty cool.
5. It'd be cool if you could find notes about caches, or come across certain unique challenges, etc. Anything more explicitly "SIDEQUEST" than that I wouldn't want.

I would love to see some sort of backstab mechanic or SOME way to effectively fight back if you haven't found a gun of some kind. I recently tried to play and wound up rage quitting because I literally couldn't do anything because there were hunters everywhere. I had the axe, but it doesn't really do much of anything...

I just mean youre slower than crouch speed in liike 99% of games. Skyrim did it well, croch speed is decent but to go extra slow for less noise, you held the walk key and went slow. in Sir, you go about as fast as slow crouch. its agonizingly slow.
Gazoinks Sep 27, 2013 @ 7:20pm
A crouch system like STALKER might be nice. In that one you can crouch for decent concealment and decent speed or go prone (which is closer to Sir's crouch) for really slow movement but max concealment. Please make it less annoying than STALKER's two-button system though. :P

You guys need to remember that these guys will not implement anything at all if it does not have a place in British hunting culture. Strongholds of any kind full of robots might be a bit hard to justify in that spirit. Do remember that this isn't supposed to be just another outlands game about shooting down hordes of robots, it's supposed to be about robots hunting and killing you, and the fear that initiates. It's only in alpha right now, but the guys at Big Robot want, eventually, to make the robots nearly equal to you in terms of AI, and in firepower. You're meant to always have the lower hand, unless you're careful and smart.
The Pickled Radish Oct 6, 2013 @ 10:32am
All of that sounds like good ideas, except I don't have a problem with the sneaking speed. It is realistically slow. Also side missions? No.
Misery Oct 7, 2013 @ 2:04pm
Hopefully during world creation there will be an option random biomes so we don't pick them ourselves, love randomness
Anagnorsis Oct 7, 2013 @ 11:10pm
If you really want it to be random, use a die with two faces for each island choice.
Oskar Schindler Oct 8, 2013 @ 10:23am
@lordwyrm that would be cool, not knowing whats beyond this boat. @anag well yea but you would stiill know what was there. liike iif you didnt know untiil you discovered it would be cool.
Anagnorsis Oct 8, 2013 @ 10:48pm
Have someone else throw the die and select the islands for you, then.
Anagnorsis Oct 8, 2013 @ 11:50pm
Sorry to seem like a smartarse, but really doesn't seem neccesary for them to code it into the game when a practical method is already possible.
Oskar Schindler Oct 9, 2013 @ 12:51pm
well for something that would take all of 10 minutes to implement, they might as well
Anagnorsis Oct 9, 2013 @ 11:40pm
Whatever floats your boat. One way is available right now, the other isn't.
SouthLane Oct 10, 2013 @ 2:30am
I would like to be able to shoot bits of the robots and see how they deal with one arm, one leg, or none of the above. If you could blind them and watch them bump into walls would be good for a laugh.
