Game is set on the western front. If we get a expansion or sequel set on the eastern front, we could see Germany, Austria-Hungary, Russia, Ottoman Empire, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, Poland, and maybe even ANZAC's during the Gallipoli campaign. Italy could show up as well. Japan, I don't think so.

It would be nice to get the DLC from the eastern front :)

As Savage said games currently set on the Western front, Devs will look at possibly adding other fronts as expansion packs once this fronts finished.

But I don't think we'll see Poland, Greece or Japan in game even with possible expansion packs. an Italian, Mid east and Eastern front is possible however.

first, greece was neutral throughout the war, and poland was a territory in russia at that time. After the russian revolution, poland dissagreed with communism, therefore they became independent. And the ♥♥♥♥ did help out russia during thier downfall.

Greece joined in 1917, I believe. But I don't know what importance they had, so nevermind. Most part of nowaday Poland was indeed Russian, with some parts in Germany and Austria. Poles fought on both sides of the conflict. So either side could get a Polish squad, could be cool.

No.

First, Greece joined the Allies in late 1916 after they forced the Pro-German king to step down by threat of military force and by dividing the country.

Secondly, we are referring to Poland as a front, not a country.

Poland became independant as a result of Germany being stripped of the land it gained in the treaty of Brest-Litovsk it signed with the Soviet Union. It only fought off Communism later in the Polish-Soviet War of 1920-21.

What exactly do you mean by the Japanese assisting the Russians during the revolution?

I might be mislabeling these pictures, since you know, people can put up whatever they want on the internet.

I don't think it would be fair to exclude a Japanese expansion without at least mentioning the Seige of Tsing Tao.

http://www.firstworldwar.com/battles/tsingtao.htm

However, considering it is just one battle and with a paper thin time frame I understand there isn't enough there to warrant a whole expansion. It would probably be 1, maybe 3 maps at the most, with a partial reskin of Landser 1914 uniforms pitted against IJN/IJA soldiers. Maybe, just maybe some German sailors with rifles, but it's already enough of a stretch.

Greece had a great influence to the war. Greece, with Serbia and Allied reinforments defeated Austrians, Bulgarians and Turkish armies in Balkans. Forcing Bulgaria to surrender(29 September), resulting in opening the road to Istanbul and Vienna, which force both Ottomans(30 october) and Austrians(3 november) to sign peace. After that Germans realized that remain alone in the war accepted the armistice(11 november). Taking out of Austro-Hungarian Empire and Ottoman Empire had a bigger influence on German decision of surrender than the collaps of the western front.

New nations are very exciting but i would honestly prefere the Devs to focus on new Maps - historically Verdun was hevily fortified and i would like to see massive concrete fortifications, bunker complexes and tunnels. It should not be forgotton that the first use of the Flamefrower in modern war was by the Germans at Verdun.
Eadrielas Nov 19, 2014 @ 10:31pm
Agree with danielhall. Maps, as long as they add veriety to the game's strategy are surely welcome. If I were to add a faction though it would have to be Hungary for no other reason than my absolute love for the nation's military history. It has nothing to do with their involvement in the war or anything.
PUPPY ENEMY Nov 20, 2014 @ 3:26am
Yeah, of course, maps and all that would come first. It is a game named Verdun, after all. We need a map of Verdun. But adding these other nations beg for a future expansion pack, rather. That is looking far into the future, though. So it's just a topic for discussion.

If we're gonna talk new nations for THIS game, likely candidated would be Belgium and America - two more factions for the Entente. Germany would probably just get a couple of new German squad.

But OP only mentioned nations not on the western front, so I am going to hijack this thread and decide the topic is "eastern front in a future expansion".
Bishop Nov 20, 2014 @ 4:22am
problem with new maps is how they've set them up with them covering sectors. also aparently there's still the problem of the map design not allowing tunnels.

Odds are we will still see some new nations, Belgium and the US spring to mind.
