NO SHOOTING FROM THE HIP.
I think it should be taken out the game as i know from using a similar bolt action rifile you can't do it without major injury. Please devs take it out and make it you can only fire when the rifels at your shoulder.

That was a major point of the "Chauchat", the first LMG that was capable of doing so. People used to fire bolt-actions a plethora of times by the hip. What's next, no melee?

the mg if thats what they did fine but as for the bolt actions from the hip i'm unaware in any sources that being the norm. It just makes the game rubbish when so much is pretty accurate.

We are going to nerf the accuracy on the rifles in any case so it will not be effective. Regardless I rarely fire from the hip anyway (by intuition).

The accuracy on the rifles is fine. Hell, last week, I did a bit about the accuracy and speed of the bullets in Verdun on the forums. The time to target is perfect (near instantaneous) and the range is so miniscule (at the moment) that missing is user error (since the largest range is currently 150 meters, and that's stretching it).

Anywho, shooting from the hip:

Entirely possible to fire from the hip, and to hit a target less than 10 feet away.

EDIT: I think the best way to counter people being so reliant on hip-shooting is to remove crosshairs. I don't use the crosshairs and find that hip firing beyond minimal range is more of a twitch reflex to try and give myself time to aim the next round than to actually hit something.

Also, maybe have the rifle move with the mouse and moderately independantly of the camera (i.e. Red Orchestra Mod/Ostfront).

Oh, and when is the camera going to be moved to the head instead of being planted firmly in the sternum?

I think that's about the only time I use it as well- if someone's in my trench, it's the "OH ♥♥♥♥" response before I attempt to actually aim.

And as for shooting from the hip, it can be done, but if you're not inside ten yards, you may as well give up, cause you're probly gonna miss.

i dunno if the crosshairs are much use, they are with MGs/SMGs in games but 1 shot rifles, not so much. it's just get them in the center of the screen.

In tight trench conditions shooting from the shoulder wasn't always an option (especially with full size rifles like Mos-Nag and G-98). I use it frequently in death matches for when I am sprinting through trenches, worthless otherwise.
