Can somebody explain weapon leveling/make a leveling gudie?
Since I've been playing I have gone back to level 1 in overall level a few times (I know that's a bug) but I've also had to keep re-leveling all my guns. Is it squad based, also how is squad leveling calculated?
I mean I'm content to sit with the MG class being a rilfe and a handgun it's just I always give it up so that (in theroy) someone with a real MG can use it.

there's 4 levels.

1st is the player level, this serves no purpose and is ment to be replaced in the near future.
2nd is weapon level, this affects the rifle in RDM, think it's level 30 will allow you to unlock a new rifle, high leveled rifles can also get addons in RDM such as a scope or bayonet.
3rd level is class level, this is different for each role/class in each squad. German NCO doesn't share it with French. This determines if you can unlock a new equipment loadout.
4th is Squad level, this determines your perks and uniform. high squads have better perks such as longer hold breath, a stronger callin and later war uniforms.

hope this helps.

Okay, thanks, so is my rifle level resetting just a bug then?

yes, only level that should reset is squad level when people leave.

what system do you use and when does it reset? there is a bug known as "level reset bug" which resets player level but normally doesn't mess with weapons.

is there a menu where i can see what i'll will unlock in weapon/class/squad and in what level this will happen?
Carbohydrates Jun 26, 2014 @ 3:11pm
Sort of.
If you press esc in frontlines you will see the class unlocks under "squad setup" for each particular class. You will see the squad unlocks under " squad progression".
You can see the rifle ( other weapon levels than rifles don't do anything currently) level unlocks in the rifle selection menue in the RDM gamemode.

I think the leveling up system should be made less confusing in the game :(

they plan to, the player level is ment to be getting replaced with a "career" which is made up of role/class level I think. haven't heard much on it though.

Career level indeed will be a total of role levels (never less than the total xp you already earned), encouraging players to take on as many roles as they can. The idea is that you can level a role to 100 in several matches.
