Uniform Upgrade?
So in the in-game menu I stumbled upon a locked Icon named "Uniform Upgrade", So I was just wondering how you get these or what level do you get them? and how do you change back uniform once you get them.

its related to squad level, higher the squads level the later the uniform. Currently you start in 1914 uniform, then if your squad levels up you will unlock 1915 uniform and level 100 squads will have 1918 uniform.

you can't switch back, other then leaving the squad at which point you lose the squads advanced perks as well. it is just a visual change not a gameplay one.

So we can't keep our uniforms :(
aww I really wanted to get one of those bad ♥♥♥ helmet wearing french guys

although it makes sense and a bit more immersion considering it displays progression through games, though say I make a squad and leave it for a while (But note that it is still active) and join back, does the progression persist?

And what squad levels will determine the year

Have a look at "squad progression" ingame, all unlocks related to squadlevel are shown there.

Darn I like the 1914 German Uniforms the best. I wish it was an option to keep the old outfit.

you keep the exp with the players in the squad, they are auto-matically added to the ingame friends list, so rejoining their squad (doesn't matter what faction or squad type just the members) will add the exp again to level up the squad.

Example me and Carbohydrate have squad level 91 together.

I don't know the exact levels, the squad progess does show in game if you press esc and click that tab.

Its the downside of the system, but it wouldn't be much of a uniform if it wasn't applied to the squad. and I know "but what about the other 3 squads?" they have their level too :P it's not perfect, but I also think it helps identify the higher leveled players. I also think higher level uniforms tend to be a bit better in the cammo department.

I know the cammo would better better I simply prefer the older outfits. I think they look nicer and would prefer to die looking good lol.

Maybe they'll change the system in the next update, maybe it will be team based this time or server based considering the progression in uniform is counted as years (not saying it will last years but depending on how old the server lasted)
but who knows? I'm just a man trying to get throught the day eating sandwiches

It is called uniform for a reason, all the players in one squad can be identified as playing as such class and their level as well. They are uniformly dressed.

The new and improved characters are a feast for the eye, we just rounded up all the Germans :)

So it automatically changes your uniform when you reach the certain levels? And hi soviet by the way :P

it upgrades when you respawn.

I was merely stating what I did because historically the German army uniform was a mix later on because not every soldier got the new uniforms (likely due to supply issues since there are re-issued Pickelhaube's from 1917). In addition I was not complaining of model design but of actual historical uniforms. I personally like the Pickelhaube much more than the Stahlhelm and early war outfits more then the later issued ones. I understand the purpose of it I just preffer the former uniform. I will just await the Austro-Hungarian squad for I do not mind their uniforms thoughout the war.

Well what you are describing is also what would happen in-game. As different units level at different paces you will get that a lvl 1 landser unit would fight along side a lvl 100 stosstruppen unit etc.

The French units are even worse, there are 4 tiers of french units, all of which will be represented.
Sigmar's Heir Jun 26, 2014 @ 6:58pm
I prefer the Stalhelm in my opinion, but for the French I like the "Adrian Helmet" more than the regular legion looking cap
Sigmar's Heir Jun 26, 2014 @ 6:59pm
Excuse me but what do you mean by the french have 4 tiers? does this mean that the squad level is distributed differently for France?
