in the future, will we be able to mute a rude/profane/yacking/console spamming player? for instance in deathmatch: basically all [KK] dudes bring everyone down. and guys leave because of the language, stud-muffin postering. it gets real old. above all, the cursing is way out of hand at times. muting a player would be totally awesome, or have something running in-game that automatically boots someone for saying certain phrases/words/etc. thanks for listening. and all you haters, take a hike cause i can't mute you. :-)

Well i don't think anyone ever asked you to stop saying what you want however uncivilized it may be. The opening post merely seems to be asking for a way to personally remove profane chat content without really removing the chat itself, which i can somewhat agree with.

I think there is an option to turn chat off so you will not see that. Also I personally had a KK member criticize my kill/death ration on the trenches gamemode. However I ignored it because my goal is team victory on that not self success.

Regardless of someone's goal isn't it true for most people that multiplayer games are less fun if you get verbally abused? That doesn't mean you don't want to see chat messages of people who are trying to use it for tactical messages and friendly encouragement or conversation so the ability to remove the chat does not really adress this.
However, personally i wouldn't put this high on the list, there are (for me) more important things the developers need to adress. Nonetheless it would be a nice feature maybe to see post-launch.
@ComeGetSome: Belittling groups or players on the forums isn't really nice either, how about we try to talk about this problem more objectively?

K/D ratio is the most useless thing ever here, not only because team succes is much more important, but most players that tend to lead the spearhead and get the most kills also tend to die alot, so it would be a moot point even if nobody gave a crap about teamwork.

Name and shaming.. nice. Did you ever consider that most of the time it's a poser and not me?. As for the rest of KK none of us play rifle DM with the exception of myself everyone once in a while so how can you say we bring everyone down? Just not cool at all...

you answered you're own question. recently seem to be a huge boom of posers, either pretending to be a player or adding clan tags that they aren't part of.

Then Zab, I thing you will agree with me then. I asked few month agos, to remove this abitlity to be able to rename you nickname with this game. I was expecting this kind of trouble since someone took my nickname too. But look like this time, it was alot worst.

And I know you can switch nickname with Steam, but at least with steam, you can see if you search who switch nickname to existing players name since this leave some trace you can verify.

Right now, I leaved a game, someone took the nickname of High_Five_...... Since I think it's a 12 years old kids, he was complaining he got hacked and never know, you can easly do this with this game. The real High_Five quit while playing. Maybe not in good mood.

And yes, immature people without supervision, can transform a game in a bad thing that push many players to leave for others game ? If it get to be not a funny to play anymore.

About the Kill death ratio, my suggestion is extreme, but maybe the only way I think to fix this. Remove the count of death and only keep the kills. Then after this player not able to compare K/d ratio, probably will try to get more kills.

My opinion about muting, bad idea, why ? Because people not wanting to play the game type will probably will use it to conitnue too... Newbee, same. People will use this excuse. People who like to harrass others people will continue to harrass people, the same guy's muted or not since he don't answer anymore? I don't think they will stop there and if it's not on him, it's will be on another guy.

It's why I said, I don't thing muting will fix anything.

This said ComeGetSome, I always have alot of fun playing with you on RifleMatch. Just, I don't share the same opinion as you on this subject. And I think it's more because chat are not moderated with this game we have those troubles.

+1 i would love to be able to mute players, i basically get verbally abused almost every freaking round and it's getting really old. It doesn't bother me when they call me a hacker/cheater or whatever but saying nasty things about my mother etc. that really does upset me.

I particulary use the chat/team chat a lot. Who plays/have played with me knows how I am.

I mainly use it for tactical purposes, but I also use it for jokes concerning to the game and team encouragement (I love to do that ;p).

Also with team chat there are lot of good conversations with players, about anything. Since most players are adults, it's really fun.

And I never had problems with spammers/annoying players in chat. So I don't find the option to "mute" players so useful, at least for me. However, of course any player has the right to not see what he doesn't want to.

perhaps a personal choice to block abuse and you could stick with the ww1 theme by "censoring the posts" I too take alot of crap from online trolls and I tend to unknowingly give them more ordnance to fire at me. But when someone calls me a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ or an autist thats when I just want to stop seeing their crap. I would rather see an opaque black line than abusive commentary at that point. My point is if someone is being distruptive and annoying and or harrassing you you should have a personal option to censor the comments next to their screen name.

You think that buddy you think that. I do have fun... while you waste your time focusing on random posers and trolls. I'll give you the fact that ya I sure have mouthed off before but I own it and honestly you calling me out here is just as bad. So congrats for officially stooping down to level I have dipped down into before....
