now that i have finally played frontlines verdun long enough to have my views tempered with experience, a few things still bother me.
1. when pressing the space or shift keys, why shouldn't all weapon use be disabled, similar to the MGs which may not fire on the move? this should eliminate all jump shots. i still see players shooting me from mid air with bolt action rifles while they are jumpimg into my trench. is this even physically possible in real life?
2. enable friendly fire kills with all artillery. friendly fire artillery already happens in the bot mode, so why not just add that to the frontlines mode?
3. and airplanes spotting on the night map. really? they are kidding us, right?

1. No. Jump shooting takes skill to do and Verdun is not a realistic game. No more changes to core game mechanics years after release.

2. No. People call in their arty so liberally that there would be constant teamkilling. It could also easily lead to abuse.

3. And people calling in an arty strike with telepathy?, people holding their breath makes them totally accurate when they shoot their rifle?, I can shoot somebody in the foot with my rifle and they drop dead but if I shoot them in the chest with my french revolver they don't die and they keep on fighting? Do I need to keep going or do you get the point?

Even in 4v4, 6v6 private matches and at community pug night we still get a few teamkills here and there. I can't imagine how many more there would be when people aren't coordinating where airplanebombs, arty, and frags are landing.

re: teamkills with "friendly artillery."
i notice that when artillery is incoming during a bot match, players are given a "warning circle" which allows some time for friendlies to get out of the way.
couldn't frontlines do something similar, at least for artillery called by a squad's own NCO?

Noooooooooooooooooo. I'm dropping like 25% of my kills on some maps with jump shots. I love the rage they induce (semi kidding).

It's definitely unrealistic though.

Random as hell but I got in an argument on the Day of Infamy sub and some guy told me if I wanted a realistic game go play Verdun. lol. He thought Verdun was more realistic/hardcore.

*For those who haven't played DOI or Insurgency, it's not*

That's not your own artillery, thats the bot support.

"here and there". rofl

General might have killed half his team with one airplane bomb but that was an isolated event...

Half the team dying to one bomb was isolated

Sure until it happens again

Isn't that true for everything though. Like for me the pink textures glitch was an isolated event; until it happens again which it probably will knowing Verdun

How big is the explosion with the airplane bomb?

Is it really that good?

It's not very big, but it is accurate enough to hit pretty much right where you place the marker.

1. Personally, I'd just like it for ADS to be disabled while in mid jump. However, it's not going to change. What do you mean by shift and weapon use though? (It does cancel out reloading if you go to sprint while doing so.)

2. Not going to happen, but I personally would like to see it for Sector and Creeping. Just not for Mortars as they are too easy to spam. (Still going to await the Hardcore Mode myself, even if it takes another expansion (ie, a new front) to see it.)

3. Been suggested before to add flares to Champagne when the Recon Plane is called, but doubt we'll see it added personally. I would rather see the Real-Time Tracking Arrows changed to simple Dots/Blimps on the mini-map.

1. Getting rid of jump shots further decreases the skill cap.

2. There would be so many friendly fire kills it'd be insane.

3. That'd be ok since Recon is the most powerful squad and could use a bit of a nerf
It shouldn't be possible to aim down the sights while jumping, but people like Zab and FluffyBunny won't stop crying/threatening to shut down competitive leagues if any of these "core mechanics" (i.e. anything that contributes to their dominant status in the game) are changed. I don't expect the ADS jumping will ever be changed at this point, especially now that the historical mode has most likely been canceled.
