Unity engine
Now - dont get me wrong I LOVE THIS GAME - and I WANT IT TOO SUCEED - that being said I have some issues with the game and the engine. I play both this and Interstellar Marines, both of which run the Unity engine, now I understand the size of the Verdun dev team, but can someone tell me another reason as to why IM is galaxsies far ahead of Verdun graphically? or, if the "small dev" team reason is the sole reason, do you think we will ever get the full potential of the Unity engine (IM lighting etc)

I also play both Interstellar Marines and Verdun. While Verdun does look pretty good on High settings, I agree IM looks a bit better right now. This may be due to IM relying more on darkness while Verdun's gameplay takes place in bright sunlight. I do know that the IM team has been working with Unity for quite some time, so it may be they just have more experience with the engine. Also keep in mind that Verdun's multiplayer is bigger than IM's right now, so there's more happening in Verdun at any given moment.

If Verdun does ever add darker maps, I'd like to see something like flares and muzzle flashes be used. IM has shown what awesome lighting Unity can do, and I'd love to see that in Verdun.

I like Verdun alot better than IM, but the guys making IM have really made it look good and has higher frames per second. All in all though I wish they both would ditch Unity and go with the new Unreal or even Unigine. Can only imagine how much better it would be then, espeacially on Linux. It is really sad to see such great games, made by awesome devs, only for the engine to be really letting it down.

Depths of Fear :: Knossos also shows the advantages of lightining in this engine.

I don't think that it's the engine that matters but the game developers most of all.
