An examination of the world transformation mechanic
Hey, 140 fans. So everybody likes this game, but one feature that doesn't seem to get a lot of love is the mechanic by which you change the world around you through those orbs and sockets, bringing platforms and other elements to life. Well, this aspect of 140 really captivated me, and I wound up making a video about it. I hope that the members of this community will enjoy it.

Hey, at the very least it's an amazing introduction to the game.

I don't think I'd enjoy the nonlinear gameplay you describe.

I'm not sure I would either! But I admit that it feels a little disappointing to me for the orbs to all be basically right next to their sockets; I can't help wondering what would happen if I could take one to a different socket.

I just think that there's a lot of potential in this idea, and I'd love to see it explored in various ways.

Great video! The idea of being able to bring different orbs to different sockets could be very interesting. In earlier iterations of the game, the orbs were actually placed farther away from their sockets and finding them required more exploration. But it turned out that the minimalistic graphics were a pain for the player to explore in, and you very quickly felt lost.

That makes perfect sense; if exploration were a substantial part of the game, the graphic style would become frustrating because the environments don't have landmarks that the player could use for navigation. Thanks for pointing that out—and for noticing my video!

I've got a 50% off this game I'm giving away for free, someone hit me up, it expires the 21st of this month.
