Initial Impressions
So far I'm not seeing what is making everyone so upset about the game. (youtube and kickstarter and all those issues aside, I'm not going to discuss those in this thread.)

I must admit, the Survival DLC feels more....fitting than the Story. The story feels almost forced in a way. I understand why its there, but it seems like a big tutorial for the DLC.

My main gripes are:
The Camera. It feels shifted to the right a bit, so the weapon hand is almost always in the middle of the screen and the left hand is almost no-where to be found. I'm sure I'll get used to it, and perhaps would seem better if I could put my stick (sword?) away.

Barrels and boxes. You don't have to break them to get the stuff inside. "Hold E" appears without having to open them first. A bit immersion breaking.

Bodies. Some of the people you kill disappear, instantly. A HUGE minus. I understand vanishing bodies eventually, but not a split second after they die. (I assume this was done to avoid having to put in ragdolls)

Other than those 3 things (and really only 2 are major, the other is just a bit....odd...) I am very much enjoying this game.

Are the graphics bad? No, I wouldn't say so. Sure they aren't Far Cry 3 or anything but I wouldn't say they are bad.

I thought it runs choppy? Perhaps early on it did, and I only got this recently so did not see the day one state (see what I did there?) but my game runs flawless, and this is with tweaking AA and AF a bit higher. Granted my PC isn't bargin grade either though
Win 7 64 bit (I think the 64 bit is key to many performance issues, with this and other games)
8gb ram
i5 2500k @ 3.3 ghz
GTX660 2gb

I just don't see what everyone's major issue is with this game. The developer seems to want to make the game better (putting out patches fairly frequently, and releasing a free DLC that, at least to me, is more fun than the story mode) and the game is $5 right now.

My experience with the game is around 4 hours or so. (Steam will show my time a bit longer, left the game running when I went to work) Perhaps I will find something else I truely hate about the game later and will update if needed.

But for now, this isn't another WarZ in my opinion. Far from it.

I got the game yesterday, on sale and im sorry to say the game dose not seem as if it was worth it (sorry Dev.), but it seems like an alpha or beta but not a full game. There are many problems including (sorry if they were already posted) how bodys dissapear out of nowhere, there is little ragdoll physics, the storyline is somewhat forced as you are thrown into situations that are very unrealistic (Spoiler: In the begining of the game you are in a temple and you find alien tech that you somehow know how to use, then right after kill a priest you go join the people of the vilage even tho you killed their priest.), and the combat system is pretty messed up how you can hit and block at the same time (even tho block dosent work all of the time) , and finaly there is no way to tell your getting hurt, eccept a small health bar. Over all I would sugggest you do not buy this game untill there are further update ( I couldent continue to play after about 30min in)

I think that the human bodies are disappearing on purpose - I notice that the animals definitely don't follow suit.

The game was pulled from Early Access too early.

There's still sound glitches, memory leaks, crashes on 16:10 monitors if not ran windowed and even then the left border of the games window is forced flush with the left side of the monitor leaving a a three inch distracting gap on the other side.

The fact that 'Early Access' is not longer listed scares me a tad tha the developer may have ran out of funds to complete....and that has been the fate of many games - even moreso these past two years since the start of Kickstarter.

Oh, BTW...the concept, graphics and gameplay (what does work) is really good. Music and sound are superb too when they don't cut out all together.

....this reminds me VERY much of Precursors and White Gold.

Worst game I've played in a long time.

I also agree with Carnival. The game concept is very good, very promising. However it feels like an alpha build. Releasing it this early was a bad idea, as this alpha is going to be the impression that most players get of what could eventually shape up to be an incredible game.

I guess that there are two tribes (Amazons and Glowing Eyes). Prisoner in the temple and those people in the village are Amazons. The priest and the rest of people in the temple are Glowing Eyes. Shame the game doesn't do anything to elaborate on its own plot and ends on a kind of cliffhanger.

It had promise, but was simply made by an indie studio that lacked the skills and resources to create a large open world survival game. And it's not an easy thing to do.

Large companies like Bethesda or Bohemia pretty much only JUST manage to pull off open-world stuff with good quality, it certainly made me raise an eyebrow when I heard a small indie studio (especially WildGames) was attempting something of this scale.

I hate to put indie devs down, because in all honesty I (most of the time) prefer indie over AAA... But WildGames Studios should have either got a larger team, or more talented devs - or even better, both.

i thought the bodies were magic so they vanished?
hmm maybe that would make more sense if the dev makes it so like they dissolve in magical colors or something if people are confused about them insta dissapearing or whatever.

Xenus 2 White Gold - £6.99 and Precursors - £7.99 over on Gamersgate.
Both a bit buggy but good games.

I have played a bit, and the game seems really fun, a shame it's so buggy, here's me hoping the devs keep working on it.
