I first came across this game whilst looking for info about “Moebius: Empire Rising” by Jane Jensen (big fan of her work), so it was a while ago. Played the demo but wasn't too impressed with the voice acting (especially) and the dialogues... the story (from the little that is shown in the demo, which is the first part of the first chapter of the game) seemed predictable and not very well written. I guess this was because we're pretty much thrown into something that would have a bigger impact if we'd previously had some time to care about the characters involved - too much too soon. So I wasn't exactly motivated to buy the game after playing the demo.
Months later I managed to buy the game along with a some others for a very low price (including Steam codes, thankfully), and decided to give it a chance. I'm glad I did because the story is actually very good, the demo does it no justice and the voice acting gets a bit better as the game progresses (or maybe I just ended up getting used to it, I guess). The dialogues can be cringe inducing at times (especially in the first two chapters) but because the storyline is so engrossing I managed to ignore that as well as the mediocre animation and models (Moebius suffers from that as well, which is a shame). But I am a lover of good stories and good mysteries and this game caters to both notions, I just wish that more attention was put into the quality of animation, models and voice acting. But overall, it’s a good game with a good story and interesting characters. The cognitive “powers” are well developed and are part of what makes this game so addictive - they were well thought out and make sense in terms of game mechanics.
I would highly recommend this game for the storytelling experience alone, but I also liked it for its uniqueness and interesting themes. i hope the developer invests in better 3D modeling and animation as in the future I'll keep my eyes open for more games coming from them.
