Early Access Review
The Forest is definetly one of my favourite games despite it only being 0.12 Alpha as I'm currently writing this review. The gameplay feels fluid and not clunky to me. The video settings I feel are ample for the game and I can only imagine the options getting more in depth. I feel like there is a huge amount of potential within this game and I can see it being a big contender when finally finished and polished up.
Moving more into the game itself, you will see a lot of bugs because it'a an alpha although there are a few which will require you to reload the save but fortunately I haven't had that happen enough to me that I have complained. The A.I in the game suprise me each time I load back into singleplayer or even multiplayer, although the atmosphere completely changes on multiplayer as the isolation factor of being stuck in a forest/island alone with no idea of what could be hiding in the tree trunks above you or following you at a respectable distance. After the initial "settling in" you might find yourself running out of things after establishing a defendable base and eco-system within it. Saying that there is a nice cave system with a definetly fear element (Atleast to me, personally) once you go deep down into them, regardless if on multiplayer or singleplayer, you will find yourself letting out a noise or two or possibly some bodily fluids. After doing the exploration of The Forest/Island you sort of run out of things to do really.
Wrapping up my review, The graphics on the game are stunning even on the lowest settings, The gameplay feels fluid and fun although turning bland near the end of the initial setup, could do with more things to do which I'm anticipating.
