FIre-Miss-Undo-Miss-Undo-Miss-Undo-Miss-Undo-Kill...
The unlimited capacity of "UNDO" last action gives literally unlimited action and command points. This is only countered in hard difficulty with the timer.

I'd suggest you should "undo" once per terminator a turn only, orelse there's actually no point about normal difficulty, as hard difficulty is way easier than expected.

An easy fix would be to simply lock the undo button for hard mode.

We have had several suggestions for the undo...also having undo move for Multiplayer. Takes time to put in...if people want to cheat it's hard to counter. Locking the undo will just make some people mad when they missclick

You are basically only really cheating yourself though. And if people find that amusing, then....
Toutatrix Nov 14, 2013 @ 11:54am
Not really.
Thing is if you wanna contest guys on specific missions for example, like scoring the most amount of kills with the less casualties, it's not possible at the moment, since cheating is allowed.
Indeed this is not a major bug nor even a game breaking one, just a little annoyance in my opinion.

So... you want them to change the code in order to give you the ability to brag more? O.o? Is that what you're saying?
Toutatrix Nov 14, 2013 @ 12:57pm
Video games have always been about scoring, and beat best scores, since beginning.
Bytheway SP board game is a dual involving 2 players.... like the multiplayer is, so next time try to get some intel before posting, k thx.

Who cares about what you do in single player? Can I play the way I want in a game I bought? Who cares if we finish the campaings and gain achievements in a legit way? None of these gain give me a unfair advantage in multiplayer. You want challenge and you think the button remove it? Just don't use it. The game does not force you.

Uh... I was asking for clarification because I didn't understand your question. In other words, I was asking you directly for the "intel". There's no need to be snarky.

You may play videogames for the score and bragging rights by the way, but I play videogames for the reflex challenges and mental exercise. So it's not "all about scoring". Personally, if I want to measure E-peen, I can do it by wtfpwning you at WoW PvP using a Prot Warrior, not by comparing who killed the most genestealers in a static RNG scenario.

Oh, and it's "duel" - a contest between two aggressors vying for dominance. Not "dual"- to affect two entities or objects.

More to the point- who cares if you can repeatedly hit Undo in single-player? It's not like those stats arte going to get posted to a leaderboard or anything.

Obviously you don't, but some may want to contest each other in more than multiplayer only, maybe with another game mode selecting a handful missions for recording scores in a leaderboard, so no need to be despising just because you don't, Mr the WoW e-peen lover.

I think anyone clearly gets your point, since beginning, considering the words used, no need to spam it with such an obnoxious way.
Sammi79 Nov 15, 2013 @ 10:02am
Easy there folks :) deep breaths...

Yes it is a bit annoying from a pure single player point of view. The problem is not that cheating is possible, it's that it would be stupid not to in critical situations, because you can. Human beings are like this.

An easy fix would be to disallow undo for dice rolls, as even in a rule flexible table top game once the dice are rolled you accept the result. I think people are not really likely to mis click an attack like they might with movement.

I'm not despising your idea, I just don't see a point to it and you got snarky first. Sorry, I came off aggressive.

As for "dual" and "duel", you type like English is not your first language. That's not an insult, it's an innocent observation. So I corrected you in an effort to be useful to you since I criticized you. No foul intended. Sorry if you misread it.

Lastly, yeah, the WoW comment was out of line. Serves a purpose of putting things in perspective though, so I kind of want to stand by it. I'll admit it was snarky though.

It sounds like what you want is a leaderboard mechanic. That would require a new mode for gameplay, as you said. I'm not sure it would see enough use, but you never know. Whatever the case, have to. I'll shut up now and leave you alone.
Toutatrix Nov 16, 2013 @ 3:13am
I see really no point in spamming you're not interested with this idea but to annoy me, you post as if you were in charge, whereas you're obvsiouly not. You posted your disagreement once, that's enough. Not to mention you add no arguement except that you dislike the idea, which actually nobody really cares about, especially me.

People have the very right to make suggestions for this game, which I like and play very frequently, without awaiting for your very approuval.

As for the type misstake, I think it happens to everyone, no need to act as an english teacher, which I'm sure you aren't. Not to mention though I'm not english, as anyone half brained can see it on my profile, I write and speak very good english, no need to come back with your now usual condescending attitude.

Feel free to go troll another thread.

I don't really see how can you compare your performance to your friend's in a game that is purely based on luck. I have no problem with undo button, since i don't use it to cheat, only to correct misclicks. Hell i don't even play singleplayer!

But i have an idea. What if when you shoot at a genestealer the results of your roll stays even if you press undo? So if you are attacking the same genestealer after hitting undo the dices won't be rerolled, if you missed the first time you will miss every time.

I know this is really a minor thing, and the devs are working hard on other, more important things, but if you have the resources why not make everyone happy?

Well the capacity to save games at anytime don't break most games. The undo feature is a lot like a auto-save.

That said it like playing a boardgame in solo (some boardgames like Arkham Horror can be played in solo), you always have the option to undo everything but you usually don't because you want to play the game.

That said I would not mind if the undo was limited in some way like only availlable in the tutorial missions or limited to one or two use by turn. Anyway loosing a mission have little consequences, you can simply restart if you make a major missclic (but yeah it can be sometime frustrating).

I admit that I often quickly forget about the undo button when I play.

EDIIT
Or simply provide a option to desactivate the undo button for SP leaderboard ranked games if a leaderboard is eventually implemented. (But maybe only MP matches could be ranked for the leaderboard).
