What is it with these half-baked, vague threats of not buying unless you meet my specific demands? They seem to pop up more than often in threads where people express a, at many times, very personal need/request/issue. It feels like a blatant lack of common sense, that some individuals feel they should hold the company hostage because something THEY want, is not being implemented the instant they demand it. Guess that's the internet for you.
There is a big difference between the imperative of "There should be" and the affectation "I want there to be".
The game is playable without a controller. The world is not going to end without controller support. And most of all, Full Control is not going to go bankrupt because fifteen or twenty people who consider a lack of controller support a deal-breaker and don't buy it. You're demanding a luxury, not an essential feature. Just because you you consider it essential, that does not technically or physically make it essential. In fact, given once again, that the game does not need a controller to be played, it is by definition nonessential.
You want it. At some point, you'll probably get it. But there is no logical reason for Full Control to capitulate to a frivolous demand of this nature when there are other far more pressing demands being made of them. Three people have demanded controller support. To date, no less than 60 have posted to this board asking for Co-operative gameplay, and another 104 (to my count of existing posts) have asked for Squad Customization and Army Painter features. If for no other reason, the volume of demand from those people-- most of whom bought the game and proved a sense of loyalty to the company---puts those two features far above controller support on a priority list.
And this would be the ridiculous part.
This isn't about you, it's about game functionality that is unnecessary and can complicate functionality in a game that actually works right now. It's all about the old addage "If it isn't broken, then don't fix it." You might not realize it, but there are some people in this world who actually consider what the ramifications of requests might be before criticizing or endorsing them. I happen to be one of those people.
Space Hulk does not possess a direct-control component. You don't maneuver each Terminator or Genestealer into a position, you simply click to a square and they go there. This can be done with a keyboard and mouse set up pretty much anywhere, like a coffee table or end-table, a medical desk or medical tray table, or even a 1"x6"x1' pine board placed across your lap or stomach while laying down with the keyboard and mouse on it. Other than for the sake of personal convenience, there is no logical reason and no imperative for Full Control to actually implement this functionality with any degree or haste, and the combination of demands and sob stories only serve to weaken the argument in favor of them expediting the process.
