The first update to The Chaos Engine is now live!

This patch fixes the performance issues some people were having, the audio glitches, various co-op fixes, achievement issues, leaderboard issues and lots of other small fixes.

Since the patch sound fx disappears after a few seconds and having some "ghosting" effect on the background, will reboot and check settings etc.
Should this include the screensaver coming on when playing with a gamepad thing?
This has fixed the fullscreen performance issues for me.

The nodes now sound as they should, but I'm still getting the key pick up sound not playing every time and "Player Activated" sounds a little bit echoe-y
Performance increased =) Im happier now =)

Ok sound is still missing so will delete local content and start a new download incase it was just the auto update with the issue.
is a password/save system for coop in the works?

Fullscreen is better, but still choppy. The best way to describe it is: slow, a little stutter, then it seems like the game tries to sync and catch up. Windowed mode scaled x3 is flawless. I beginning to think it's a a screen issue maybe? If I understand correctly this is running at 49/50 frames? Which would suck on a 60hz / 60fps screen? Maybe you can add a "NTSC fix" like back in the days?

Achievement for beating the C.E. did not pop when beating my old save. The sound now cuts out on the outro dialogue before the second line of text (the chaos has ended).
Sound issue's that were caused by the patch with sfx missing using the auto update has now been resolved, had to delete local content and begin a new download and sfx are restored as it was before the patch, so auto update caused some kind of conflict which was rather bizarre.
UPDATE: pausing the game and going back to it causes sfx to disappear again, version 1.0.0 was great but version 1.0.1 causes sound issue's.

That's interesting, PizzaDude. It's not finding the Steam runtime library. I don't suppose you just had a beta client update, and it's unintentially mucked up?
Some acheivements not working still, just completed a full without a break solo run and got awarded "double chaos", was not awarded "hard nailed" or the chaos for beating it solo.

After downloading the update I now hear a high pitch whine when activating a node. It sounds like a glitch.
Joystick (official 360 pad) still doesn't work for me. I tried reinstalling and also verified the game cache to no good.
Performance in full-screen seems a little better though and the game hasn't crashed yet when switching from full-screen to windowed.
After the update the noise when the other player teleports to me is like all stretched out
