"NVIDIA PhysX Setup" at every game launch!
Hello! Hola! Привет!
Here is my problem - every time I want to play this game, Nvidia PhysX is launching their installer and nothing else is happening, because the installer found that PhysX is alredy installed and it is newer version. If I cancel (like I'm doing because nothing is installing, I waited for 20 minutes!) at next game launch it will ask for installation again!
Does someone had this error or know how to fix it? Maybe I should uninstall PhysX and then install it from the game?
My PhysX version is 9.12.0613 and the Pay Day's is the same!

delete the installscript.vdf file in Payday's install directory.

OK! Many Thanks @Forblaze!
I just renamed it, just in case ;) and it worked! You're the best!

Installscript.vdf is a steam file telling steam that it hasn't run the initial setup. Don't worry about deleting it for any game in situations like this.

The only thing you don't need to do after delete "nstallscript.vdf" is verify the game archives, if you verify them Steam will download again "nstallscript.vdf". Proved!

All you really have to do us click cancel and the game will start normally. You have to do this every time you launch the game. It's kind of annoying but it's not a big deal really.

Just another quick note to add about this issue: if you open the "installscript.vd" file you'll see that it refers to a couple of 'registry keys' in your Windows registry.
One of these is labelled "PhysXNew".

If you open the Windows "RegEdit" tool and navigate to the location specified in this file (i.e. "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Valve\\Steam\\Apps\\24240" - Note: the "24240" is a unique identifier number for the game. I'm not sure if this number is always the same for everybody, but I am guessing this may be a different number for your installation of the game).

Then at this location, create a new "DWORD value" called "PhysXNew" and give it a value of "1".
(all without the quotation marks, of course).

At start up, the game reads the "installscript.vd" to determine the location of the registry keys, and then performs a lookup on those registry keys to determine whether DirectX and PhysX are uptodate.
By adding this new registry key value (of "1") we have declared that PhysX is uptodate, so the PhysX installer will not be run.

This worked for me. Best of luck!

NOTE: it is generally accepted that fiddling around in the Windows Registry is a 'dangerous' activity. If you don't even know how to run the 'RegEdit' tool then I recommend you leave it alone! :)
