DCUO Not Starting
Okay, relating to one discussion, the launchpad pulls up, showing the 'Installing' for any patches, then goes to 'Play'. When I do click said button, it goes to 'Playing', followed shortly by a DCUO game icon on the taskbar. However, shortly after, it goes away without launching said game. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, hoping it would launch then. It doesn't.

Anyone else getting this issue? And if so, is there a way around it?

I am having trouble with the same issue but mine doesn't even go to the patch installing screen, it is stuck at the SOE (Sony online netertainment) load screen pre-launchpad start up. It does not go any further and I would really like to play...

Interestingly, The Non- Steam users dont have this Problem.
I checked with my Friend, and it worked with official Launcher.

It's an ongoing issue check out further down and you'll see a long thread about it. It's also in the tech support section of the DCUO forums. There is a fix using the installer found on the DCUO website BUT for me it stopped me from being able to use the Steam overlay and doesn't track my achievements any longer. It seems the most reliable way is to install the client from the DCUO website sadly. :(

This fixed my problem:

"There should be a file in the steam DCUO folder called Lauchpad-user.ini (don't confuse this with Launchpad.ini, they are two separate files). Delete that file then launch the game again. It should force the launchpad to go into a recovery mode that will fix the problem."

sadly the steam overlay still isn't working so it can't track my achievements :(

After doing this are any of you able to access the steam overlay or earn achievements in the game? That's the next issue I'm having!

Im more worried That DCUO is not finishing, rather than not starting bro, that's the issue guys, that's the dam issue.

If were the issue then scanning the download integrity would fix the problem. After deleting the Launchpad-user.ini file and then testing the game integrity the game actually gets all broken again.

If you add the webapp line above your digest URL like so:

[Settings]
webapp=http://launch.soe.com/lp3/index.html?mode=0&game=dcuo-live&xoffset=-61&yoffset=-69&skin=dcuo&locale=en_GB
digestURL=http://manifest.patch.station.sony.com/patch/sha/manifest/launchpad/lp4-live/live/lp-dcuo-live.sha.soe
appName=DC Universe Online
appIcon=DCUO.ico
id=dcuo
width=887
height=590

OR

webapp=http://launcher.station.sony.com/lp3/index.html
webapp=http://launch.soe.com/lp3/index.html?skin=generic&game=dcuo-live

Then you should find a whole heck of a lot less trouble logging in right off Steam... Found the info in a forum recently and it refreshed some of my files, then started up without a hitch.

Hope this helps you guys,,,
