Stuck at startup screen

Someone help! i cant get the game to go past the SOE startup screen, you know, the one before the login. i would prefer a fix that doesn't involve editing files, upgrading software, or deleting cookies and such

Found this on another thread:

go here http://www.soe.com/getthegame/ start the DL for DCUO direct it to the Steam/steamapps/common/DC Universe online
after that cancel the install and try running it again its working for me
Well it checking the files as i write this so I assume its working once its done

Ok, just got it from the SOE Online website, works fine. just going to imprt that to steam.
