I really hate to say it but this game is as bad as everyone says it is. 1/10
I gave it a chance because the trailers had captured me so thoroughly, and I thought that maybe people just aren't appreciating the game for what it is. But, sure enough, after playing it again I saw all the terrible that people were talking about.
Everything in the game is washed over with this blue lighting to try and simulate the night when really it's just obnoxious. The slender man appears every now and again and I'm just annoyed everytime he does. The fog or smoke that fills every corner of the map is poorly made and seriously distracting, not to mention misleading. More than once I thought that there was a creature when really it was just the smoke making some weird shape in the distance.
The gameplay is slow and clunky, every move feels unnatural, which is offsetting. So if unnatural is what the devs were going for they might consider changing it up. I tried to get my flashlight to turn on and off but somehow the on button was different everytime I tried to use it which resulted in a mad pressing of every button on my keyboard until I could turn it on. Side note, the flashlight is entirely useless. The games default lighting is so bright that there is no point to the flashlight.
All in all, a fairly disappointing experience, which really sucks because I had hoped that this game was going to be a good one. The references to Christianity in the trailer really captured me and I thought that maybe the devs would try and touch on some itneresting topics, but instead I'm met with poor gameplay, annoying enemies, and a confusing and poorly designed environment.
To the developers,
Keep up the work on your game, keep trying to find that perfect balance whilst still maintaining your original dream for the game. I want to see this game finished, but I also want it to be fun to play.
