Solid "rogue-like" or whatever you wish to call it. Combines elements of platformers, RPG and the "rogue like" type games. The one thing that really stands out, besides the cool idea of "Traits" that can enhance/hinder your player a bit, is what they have done to mask/replace generic "grinding" from traditional RPG's. ANy fan of RPG's knows that grinding is, unfortunately, a necesarry evil. However this game has done well with taking the "grind" and maskng it up pretty well with it's style. See, instead of roaming the same forest, with the same character killing the same monotonous beasts over and over, you get a ew "forest" and character with each playthrough. Adding in the ability to mix-and-match some of the equipment/runes makes for a lot more relayability than one would expect. There are some pretty neat combinations of items/traits that you can put together for soe solid runs through the castle. I highly recommend this game. If "grinding" is something that annoys the piss out of you, this game and it's approach really do help. Do you still realize you're essentially grinding? Yeah, you kinda do for the most part....but it is A LOT more tolearble (and can even be fun!) with the way this game has handled it in it's approach.
