Game Runs Very Slowly
Slow down in Rogue Legacy can happen for a variety of reasons, but this thread will try to list all known issues that may cause this.

1. Your system is below the minimum requirements to run the game. Unfortunately there is not much we can do about this one. The most common bottleneck is the video card, in which case it is recommended to disable advanced shaders from the options menu in the game. If you're not sure if your video card meets the minimum requirements, you can check this link here:

or you can do a direct comparison with your card by clicking this link (simply replace one of the video cards in the text box):

2. You're running Windows 7, and the game intermittently chops. Please try disabling Aero themes to see if it runs smoother, and ensure not too many programs are running in the background, as that may speed up garbage collection checks and slow the game down.

3. Direct Input is funking things out. Direct Input isn't the greatest, and sometimes incorrect devices can be recognized when they shouldn't. Please try disabling DInput Gamepads from the options menu (restart the game afterward) and remove any USB devices that may conflict. This is a known issue with certain HP webcams that the system for some reason detects as a controller.

4. You are running a laptop (or mini-desktop) with both integrated and dedicated graphics cards. The slow down is most likely the result of the system switching to the lower end card when launching the game.

Please visit this thread to learn about how to disable this feature and to ensure the game uses your more powerful graphics device:
