Ponce De Leon Help
I don't know if it's just that I suck or something, but I'm almost double his level, and he keeps killing me. I use full blood armor with high base hp (since I upgraded it a lot) and on my barbarian/hokage builds I do upwards of about 120 damage.

As for runes, I run on 1 Double-Jump, 1 Dash, 1 Glide, and 1 Lifesteal. I've thought of switching around a few for more lifesteal but nothing seems to be working anymore.

My question is how the hell do you kill this thing. He keeps rushing me when I get close, and litters the room with massive fireballs that just stick in place. I can't really avoid damage unless I use the Barbarian shout, and even then I'm limited to my mana. The spike balls don't help either, it's really annoying.

If anyone knows a good strategy, I'd be delighted to hear it. I've run out of options here.

Why are you using the blood armor if there's nothing to kill to regain HP?

Also need to move around the entire room if you plan on avoiding the fireballs.

How about using Silver+ armour instead of Blood Armour?

Just run around the edge of the room, turning around and hitting him as you go. That way, the fireballs he leaves behind are never in your way. It's actually very easy once you get the a good flow going. Also, don't use blood armor, unless that's the set with the highest armor stat you have right now. It's pretty useless on most of the bosses.

If you're playing as a barbarian king/queen using your unique class ability dispells the fireballs on screen.

Place blade of Sword in to face of Ponce De Leon, repeat vigorously. Congratulations, you've won!

Marginally more serious help: Being a Dwarf is helpful as you can move around the bouncing Spike balls more easily. I used 2 dash runes and 1 double jump rune along with tanky armour.

Blood gear is completely useless against Ponce de Leon (actually it's very detrimental because it takes away your HP), so that's already a big issue. Change gear.

Ponce the Leon is an avoidance fight. Just run away from him around the whole room (so the fires die out before you have to run that way again) and just hit him whenever you can do so without much risk. Once you prioritize avoidance, he should become very easy.

Alright thanks for the advice guys. I'll change around my blood armor.

The best way to kill him is to go in as a Dragon, or something with a Chakram or Flame Barrier. If you have to rely on sword slashes to deal the majority of the damage, wait until after he charges. He'll remain still for a few seconds after he charges, so swing as quickly as you can and then resume jumping around the map until you get another good spot to deal damage after a charge.

Ok, so I got around to wearing full Silver (my best armor at the time) and 1 vampire rune to sustain me until the Maya, and he keeps killing me. I got my record down to half his HP, but he just hits me far too often to get the chance to hit him. There's not much delay after he charges either, so I can hardly get a hit in there too.

If there are any other tips; any at all, I'd be glad to hear them. Thanks for your help.

Not really... you simply shouldn't be getting hit very often in that fight. People have been able to kill him with a level 0 character (the one you start with), it should pose no problem at your level.

If you lock down the castle you don't need to get to his room (you can just teleport to it) so you could avoid Vampire runes entirely; you'll lose part of the gold he drops, but then again he drops no gold at all if you don't kill it.

Maybe use a movement speed rune if you really can't seem to avoid his attacks in time.

Seriously, avoidance is key. I thought he was difficult the first couple times I fought him, then on the third I focused on simply avoiding damage and he became really, really easy.

Then again I was using a Hokage, so I was very quick (easier to avoid damage) and since Hokage deal more than twice as much damage as Barbarian Kings I didn't need to attack him anywhere as much before he died.

Ok, I'll switch around my runes for more movement. I'll let you know how it goes.

Speaking of dragon, is that an unlockable class or something? Because I've never heard of it.
