Favorite class?
I'm somewhat new and haven't tryed everyone yet. So far though I like the Shinnobi/Hokage for the high damage. Flash is pretty useful for it's cheap price. Beat the first boss with Shinobi.

Barbarian king is great.

Hokage is fantastic for a first playthrough. Higher default speed, and the high damage means you kill trash mobs before they hurt you, and bosses die so much more quickly you have fewer chances to mess up and get hurt.

Barbarian Kings are great in NG+2 or above since they can shout projectiles right off the screen. High health means better regen from chicken as well. Shame they're so weak offensively.

Spellsword's the strongest class in the game.

Barbarian king is a great class. Although they don't deal much damage, they have lots of hp and can survive long enough to clear whole section early on in the game. Other than the spelunker they are good for getting lots of gold because by the time they do finally die they have collected so much of it.

Indeed, I just killed the final boss with barbarian the high hp and shout really helped.

Yeah I killed 4 out of 5 bosses (included the final) in my first playthrough with the Barbarian and consistently have the best runs using them in NG+. I've put a lot of upgrades into strength to offset their weakness and other classes kind of fell useless in comparison. In my opinion, the shout is the most useful special skill by a huge margin because of it's ability to clear projectiles and mitigate bullet hell situations.

I don't think Spellswords are good at all, but then again I've put next to nothing in intelligence upgrades so it's probably all dependent on how you "spec".

Assassin being able to one shot enemies is always nice. Stealth also let's you deal with not only projectiles but just general fat enemies too!

Yeah, that seems to be the one weakness of the Barbarian.

Also, the Spellsword, Barbarian King, Assassin and later on the Archmage all make great boss killers.

No you aren't! In fact I prefer the magically oriented classes to the physical ones just because of how good and abusable spells can be. Aside from that, I really enjoy playing dragon.

Barbarian King/Queen is great for a first time playthrough and learning the game, upgrading attack and armour makes them a great tank. I personally love spellthief with high mage damage and mana, since if you can get one with a good spell you can range everything in the room without difficulty, and melee is still an option. Plus with 3x vampirism, makes for a long lasting run.

Most people prefer the Lich or the Spellsword due to being able to get mana back, but I like having a set of options. Just throw on the... Holy armor? (whichever one has Siphon as it's trait) and with a solid spell set, I can clean house.
