Remix Bosses: share your strategies!
So, many of you will probably know of the brand new patch for Rogue Legacy, which gives us new rooms, a new class and new bosses called "remix bosses". This thread is meant to focus on these bosses: how to find them, how to fight them and so on. I'm a regular player just like you, so I have not every information that may be useful. The purpose of this thread is to become a useful little guide THANKS TO EVERYONE'S CONTRIBUTION. So... let's get started :D

WHAT ARE REMIX BOSSES

Remix bosses are special version of the old bosses, with similar attack patterns (although more complicated ones). The particularity of these bosses is that you HAVE to face them with a pre-determined character, with a specific class, specific equipment, specific runes and specific traits. The character is at level 0, while the boss will be at a WAY higher level (I don't know if they have a level depending of the NG, but considering the nature of this fight I think not). These bosses are really, really hard to defeat, because of their more complex patterns and to the conditions of disadvantage you're in. If you die, you'll be deleported outside the boss's gate, but you can retry it as much as you want. When defeated, RB give you a piece of medallion: according to Estoppel it will probably make Neo-Fountain, while for AngZt it's related to the new secret class.

HOW TO FIND REMIX BOSSES

I'm a bit speculating on some aspects, so if you have more accurate infos let me know. Apparently, with the patch, the devs have increased the frequency of apparition of the statues which give you special items if you pray for assistence (you know, Hedgehog's Curse, Hyperion's Ring, Hermes' Boots and so on). These statues can now give you special obols, like Khidr's Obol, Alexander's Obol and so on. If you give these obols to Charon, he will allow you to "enter new gates". If you have defeated the regular boss and go to his room again, after giving the obol, you'll find a new gate and, entering it, you'll fight the remixed version of that boss.

STRATEGIES

Remix Boss Number 1: Neo Khidr (thanks to AngZt)
You'll fight him as a female Spellsword (Lady McSwordy) with Sword Barrier as a spell. You have two double jump runes, two dash rune and a MP Absorb Rune, plus you have got the complete Silver Equipment. This character has two traits, Vertigo and ADHD; you got a special item (Nerd Glasses) which nullifies Vertigo. You fight on the floor which has two platforms and three spike pits. In the arena you'll find two higher platforms you can jump on. Your main source of damage is the powered up Sword Barrier: it costs 30 MP and you've got 50, so you must hit Khidr to recover MP and keep casting the spell. You recover 10 MP per hit. Neo Khidr has three attacks: the first is the spiral of red tears, which can be clockwise or counterclockwise. If the spiral goes clockwise and you're on the right platform (or vice versa), avoid it by dashing to the opposite platform and then triple jumping on the upper platform to avoid the last tears; then you can hit the boss once or twice to refill your mana bar or cast a spell. The second attack is the radial burst of tears, which is not very difficult to dodge once you locate the right spots. The third attack is the "irregular" burst of tears, which is the best moment to hit Khidr, if you have a bit of luck (this attack seems not to be completely pattern based, I think it may be randomized). Basically you have to cast the spell, hit him three times and cast the spell again. Keep in mind that you can be hit five times in total, then you're dead. You seem to move faster than normal, which makes things more difficult for you as it makes harder to dodge the tears. Lastly, I do not know how to completely avoid the spiral of tears if it's clockwise and you're on the left platform (and vice versa), so if you follow my strategy... you have to hope that this attack isn't used very often. The boss is at level 255 (at least on NG+2, I'm on NG +4 but I can't really remember if the level was the same or not)

Remix Boss Number 2: Alexander the IV
I'm currently fighting this boss. You fight him with an Hokage, but right now I can't remember other infors. I'll update later.

Remix Boss Number 3: Ponce de Leon Remix (thanks to to Bloodyfish and nyd)
You fight this boss with a Barbarian King. You have 5 double jump runes and enough mana for 3 barbarian shouts. The strategy seems not to be that different from the one applied to the regular Ponce de Leon, if using a Barbarian Queen or King. Simply kite him in a long circle, hitting him twice or thrice after he did his charge attack. Use the barbarian shout if fire on the screen is too much for you, but keep in mind that you only have three shouts.

Remix Boss Number 4: Herodotus & Astrodotus (thanks to reversePsychologist)
You face him as Lady Echidna, a Gay and Muscle Weak Dragon. You have the whole Dragon equipment (without the Cape) and two Haste Runes. The game turns into a space shooter in which you have to fight Herodotus (the red blob) and Astrodotus (the green one). They split in half with every hit. You can be hit three times. You can do this by randomly shooting fireballs everywhere, but it is unlikely that you will succeed, for you'll eventually find yourself overwhelmed and take three hits very easily. The other method requires a bit of patience, because you need to destroy them focusing on one part per shoot, thus limiting the amount on blobs on the screen. It is recommended to take out Herodotus first, because he is far faster and more aggressive than Astrodotus. It's probably the easiest and must fun remix boss, but you have to be patient. Keep in mind that the arena loops horizontally and vertically, AVOID flying to the edges of the screen or you'll easily get confused and hit.

Remix Boss Number 5: ???

Alexander is such a pain D: you have to dodge the spikes in the middle with the hokage dash to give yourself some more room.

Can't wait for me info to be added. I can't help right now, tho.

Currently fighting Neo Khidr as well.
My Spellsword (Lady McSwordy) has ADHD and instead of a haste rune uses a second dash rune, so you might have confused the two. Also, she has got the nerd glasses (or w/e they're called) so Vertigo is nullified and I'm fighting on the ground. I have not previously had the glasses. I am on NG+2 and the boss is level 255.

Also, I believe the pieces you get for winning might unlock the new secret character class when you have found them all.

Plus, the amount of mobs he spawns is ridiculous. I have a feeling that every single one of these remix bosses will be a HUGE pain xD

Thank you for the valuable infos! I was DAMN sure you had a Haste rune, because you moved really fast. I'll add everything to the first post right away!

The third boss is something de Freon, who you fight as a barbarian. It's more or less the same as the original fight but you only have enough mana to shout thrice.

The forth boss is like the blobb, but you get to unlimited flight with your character and the screen wraps. Think like asteroids or something like that where you have to dodge all blobb while shooting them with fireballs.

First I tried to clear the red one very meticulously trying to minimize the amount of blobbs on the screen. But after 50+ tries I tried the hardcore version just shooting everything and trying to avoid the 20-40 blobbs on screen :P Albeit it required some luck it was a lot easier.

Neo Khidr: Cry, cry a lot. Damn that dude is hard.

Neo Ponce de Leon: You have 5 double jumps + 3 Barbarian Shouts, so juse them. There are three platforms at the top of the level. Kite him around in long circle and hit him twice or thrice after he charged at you. Use the shout if there's too many firey things on the screen.

these bosses are hard as ♥♥♥♥

For all of you who manage to kill these new bosses I congratulate you as they are insanely hard

2 bosses down...

I'm really curious if i should go on or wait for the inevitable nerf, because people will cry a lot.

I'd go on :) satisfaction is a great reward!

Along with what FreddyTheMonkey wrote, you do indeed get a medallion piece from the bosses: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=204887480 but as I am currently stuck on the neo-Ponce it'll be some time before I get all four. I assume it'll make neo-Fountain eventually.

The neo-Blob boss was actually pretty easy. Hugged corner and would move left or top to appear at the far right or bottom suddenly (The screen wraps so you can move and attack through the edges) and smashed attack since you have unlimited fireball shots.

I just beat Astrodotus, remixed version of Erodotus, and I must say: if only playing the dragon class was this much fun even in the regular game...

You play as Lady Echidna, a Dragon with full Dragon Armor, a Haste rune, Gay and Endomorph I think? It basically turns the game into a space shooter as you try and defeat two bouncing erodoti that split at each and every hit, plus the map loops both horizontally and vertically. Since it loops that way, my advice would be that of staying away from corners so that you don't get awful surprises, as in this boss fight you can only take 3 hits before you die!

Just stay near the middle and hit that fire button until it hurts. Go full rambo mode. Shouldn't take more than 5 tries.

1 more boss to go.

I still got Alexander the 4th to do, and I need to get Ponce's hobol. Man, Alexander is so frustrating!
