Breakdown DLC - Best Base Location?
I was wondering which base location is the best in SoD: Breakdown. So far I know that Snyder Trucking Warehouse is the best compare to Trumbull Country Fairgrounds (in the campaign). But I was wondering what about in Breakdown? Will Trumbull Country Fairgrounds be the best base instead?

At the moment for breakdown, once you have enough resources and survivors i don't know of any reason to use any base besides snyders. Trumbull fair is too far away from everything. I'd like to hear from anyone who knows of a reason to use another base

There is only one good reason to settle up in Trumble and that one is too farm weapons (Some of the best weapons you can find in Trumble) and ammunition. If you do that early enough, you and your companions have a nice advantage of it.

After I start out at any random base, I always end up at Snyders trucking Warehouse, which is a Pity I would like a few choices, but nothing else comes close.

Honestly, if you can survive all the way through with 8 survivors, just pick one you like. It won't really matter, considering early levels won't really benefit long from the bases. Later levels all depends on how you like to play; I am using Trumbull right now because I just set up 3-4 outposts nearby for coverage and setup depository outposts in all the city areas for looting, but if you need to go for a certain challenge, I suggest Snyder's because you get more choices on useful buildings.

Snyder Trucking is only good if you need to do facility-related stuff for a challenge (was that breakdown L2 that had those?), otherwise I'm finding Savini better at higher levels. You can move in right away, and if you bring a materials rucksack with you, you can get the workshop and medical area started immediately. The guard tower finishes instantly so you can also start sniping immediately. The kitchen is up in sixty seconds so you can get started on a feast.

With Savini, you know you can get a Machine Shop up (or Munitions if you prefer), whereas sometimes the one in Snyder is just a normal workshop, so that is a wasted slot along with, imo, the storage.

Also, Savini's position hard against the river is about the most defensible in the game. Most hordes will come from the bridge and get picked off by LMG fire from the tree fort. The tree fort seems less buggy overall than a shooting platform at Snyder.

As for Trumbull, all you have to do is drop an outpost, then loot all the military stashes and break the ammo cases open. I like to do this just before loading the RV. Usually get another LMG.
Altho not on DLC yet, its easy to see what 2girls1up is on about.

Savini is quite good.

- Cut off from 3 sides, more or less. No zombies climbing a wall from there. 95% of all attacks will be at the front gate, and that gets pounded by tower guard, that can snipe way beyond the mailbox.
- Insta watchtower on move, and a lot less buggy than snyders. A LOT. Its manned 24/7 pretty much. STW will often be unmanned.
- Slots are easy to manage, despite less than STW or Fairgrounds.
- Allows training. STW or Fairgrounds do not let you sprint within the confines. I can hit cardio 7 in the safety of Savinis backyard, if i wish, pretty much voiding the need of marathon.
- All 4 Pre-built facilities are more useful than STW/Fairgrounds. Essential even.

Im not sure why most call Snyders "best", as i don't see any benefits out of moving to this particular base, aside from the 2 extra slots available, that really don't have much weight.

I prefer Kirkman's in Spencer's Mill.

With a little luck I can get 1 ammo outpost and 5 material outposts. Medicine isn't in much demand and food always come plenty. With 6 seats on the RV, I don't need a big base.

Maybe I'll try Savini's next, what kind of outposts you got in the neighboring houses?

Immediately? food and medicine.The gun shop is just past that.

I like Kirkman's except for the workshop, which is just as well since it is a pain to park in the spots there anyway. Also, it's closer to that trailer park than I like to be.

Playing savini actually in level4 and i like it too it's enough for me cause i only keep my small team (the 6 in the van lily and the one you got unlocked at the start of the level)

for Dallas : in my current game lot of fuel some materials and medicine, ammo if you place your outposts a little more far but i like to have them close to my base

I'm in the process of building all the different facilities to unlock The Father, I guess when it's done, my material demands will decrease a bit.

I really just like moving about and not staying in the same location from level to level. I think that's the best way to play it. The farm is always a great choice since it's already got two built in bedrooms for a large community and enough space to build an infirmary, work bench and one other facility.

Snyder is the typical choice, but I only stayed there for half of Level 2, moving from the Alamo after I realized how insane it would be. It just gets boring after a little while in my mind.

Savini is a pretty good choice if you keep your community small. It's got the library to try and unlock the research projects challenge.

Honestly, I'd say the only bad choices are the Church and the Alamo, unless you want the extra challenge.

Same here. I built the storehouse at Kirkman's then moved to Snyder's. Kirkman's is great for grinding, but Spencer's Mill doesn't have a lot of material.

You can move into Savini house much quicker, and in the later levels, you need to setup a home base asap. Good location for scavenger runs, great for outposts. But watch out for them hordes =)
