There is an in game negative acceleration problem for mouse, it's hardcoded in the game (it's even written on the game's wiki) and the developers just keep actively ignoring the fact.
To clarify what negative mouse acceleration is: If i move the mouse slowly the sensitivity seems high, I can turn around without problems, but when I need to turn the camera to get a 180° turn or something like that by moving the mouse fast it almost doesn't move the camera at all, the faster I move the mouse the slower the camera turns.
Also there is a really annoying vertical sensitivity problem that gives me headaches since the little precise vertical movements of the mouse while I try to turn left and right are highly magnified by this same problem and keep on making the view constantly go up and down tens of times per second.
Truth be told I can't even notice the mouse acceleration issue unless I actually go looking for it and I typically only have my mouse set to 4000dpi. You just don't need to spin the camera that often. This isn't really a twich shooter and the third person view lets you see enough to know if there is a zombie coming up from behind you. Probably 25% of the time I am fighting into the camera. I guess if aiming was more important it might be a bigger deal, but as the game stands, it is such a minor thing that I doubt you could find many people who would want the developers to waste time on it when they could be doing something else.
This game is unfortunately...a "crappy port" in regards to the mouse support. There is talk of a year celebration release that will contain some fixes. So perhaps they will adress it there, but aside from that I am pretty any and all development is done on the game.
Also having to create a user.cfg file to be able to run just the game the very first time gives you an idea of how bad the port is.
by the way maybe here on this forum there are only dozens of complaints bout mouse deceleration but there are hundreds all around the web and many more who don't even buy the game cause of this problem.
Anyway even though I'm used to fps and no acceleration I just put hundreds of hours into dragon age inquisition which is a 3rd person rpg with pretty much the same camera controls as this game and I had no problems at all but the transition to this game is impossible :(
