Shouldn't this be "Duke Nukum"?
Unless they uncensored it now, it should be Duke Nukum, I think?

that's what i thought as well. it's blasphemy to change the title because people might not recognize it as what it is

Why was it "censored" in the first place?

It had nothing to do with censorship... Duke Nukem was the name they wanted to begin with. They changed it to Duke Nukum because there was a character named Duke Nukem in Captain Planet already so they used Duke Nukum instead. When they learned the name wasn't trademarked they went with what they wanted to begin with, Duke Nukem.

So there is no censorship to remove...

Only the very first version of Duke Nukem was called "Duke Nukum".
In the first patch they changed the name to "Duke Nukem", after securing the rights to the name :)

Controversy about the game name

After the game's release, Apogee Software became aware of a Captain Planet cartoon show featured a character with the same name (Duke Nukem), and to avoid a lawsuit the software house renamed the 2.0 version of its game Duke Nukum, not wanting to discard the pun on "nuke" by respelling the name Newcomb or Newcombe.[citation needed]

It later turned out that Duke Nukem was not a registered name, so Apogee registered it and used the original Duke Nukem name in the sequels.[4]

It DOES say "Nukum" in the game, though. Maybe you should fix that --

Only the 1st was "Nukum". They changed it to "Nukem" in 2 and every game after that

Couldn't you (Interceptor) change the title screen back to "Nukem"?

It's actually the other way around. First versions were Duke Nukem, then they realized there's a Captain Planet villain of the same name and changed to Nukum, THEN they realized nobody filed a trademark for the name, did so and it became Nukem again from 2nd game onwards.

Yeah. You need to patch in three menu pics.
