I have mixed feelings for this game. I want to be in love with it,but I just can't no matter how hard I try. Although the game looks amazing and the selection of trains is rather good, there are just too many things wrong with it. First, all the missions are SUPER picky. You could have a 100% perfect scenario and only make one little mistake, and the game forces you to try again if you want to truly complete it. Also, the train controls are weird and it never seems that your train can hold a constant speed, which makes it difficult to maintain speed limits.
But by far the biggest problem with the game is DLC. Oh. My. God. This game is upwards of $60,so you would think you would get an exstensive amount of content included, right? Wrong. You get only a few trains and routes, and you have to pay for everything else. Which would be fine...if it wasn't so damn expensive! Most DLC is priced between $20-40,and the fact that I have to pay that much for one thing after I've already payed quite a bit for the game is absurd. This is the main killing factor for me and it prevents from enjoying Train Simulator as much as I could.
Don't get this game. If your looking for a good train simulation game, try the Trainz series. All of them are fun, have loads of content right out of the box, have free community created DLC,and are a one time purchase. Maybe if my problems with the game were resolved,it wouldn't be so bad. But for now,I stand by my opinion strongly.
