NOTE: This is a review of Train Simulator overall by Dovedail Games. The review is NOT specific to the 2015 edition.
Hands down this is the best train simulator out there. I am going to state that right now. If you are looking for the best, it's here. However, beware as this game can be very expensive. There is a ton of content, but almost all of it costs extra. You start out with only one or two routes, and a couple trains.
There are a few glitches in the game, mostly with the signal system on the tracks, however if your a train fan like I am, and don't mind the cost, I definitely recommend it to you. You can also build your own routes, however that can take a LOT of time, and I haven't really messed around with that.
It is also worth noting that some train interiors are more polished than others. I have around 20-25 locomotives, and some are very polished, others could use a few more buttons/features to interact with.
Mechanics/Engine 10/10 for realism
Signaling System 6/10 (sometimes is great, other times not)
Cost 6/10 (routes and trains are expensive, but they put a lot of work into them)
I recommend using an Xbox 360 or Xbox One controller for easier controls. Alternativly you could buy the RailDriver train controller for $200 which I don't have, however it seems pretty cool.
