PROVIDING FEEDBACK:

We are interested in collecting feedback during the beta relating to follow topics only:

2. Any functions which are not working as expected but worked prior to installing the update. In other words did the update break anything?
3. Anything listed in the update notes which does not appear to be fixed or functioning as expected.

In all cases please provide your system specifications in your feedback as this will help us to test your reports here in the studio.

We are not focusing on fixes which are not listed in the update notes or which fall outside of the scope of this update.

Although the update has been tested prior to entering the beta it is still in development and as such may result in unexpected errors or issues. Uninstalling the update as detailed above will revert you back to your current version of Train Simulator in the event of problems. Installing the update is completely optional and players do so at their own risk.

It's a start I guess...
Not many UI improvements yet then, but at least the most glaring deficiencies appear to have been fixed...

I'm very glad to see that DTG are releasing gradual improvements to the sim over the course of the year and I hope that this trend continues and expands!

Could you please give more details btw about the "additional controller support" listed?
I'm curious what that means - what kind of controllers, and how are they supported?

Should I think of RailDriver, or something like Saitek Quadrant controller, or rather generic game controllers?
Or is it more like a generic framework encompassing all types of controllers?

The update looks good.
Why is it telling me the code is invalid when I follow the instructions, and I am using copy-paste ?

Check if it didn't paste extra space at the end.

That was it, thank you.... I do have two questions, What does AI no longer being random in Quick Drive mean? The other question is, if we like the new functionality, will the beta automatically disappear in a week, or can we keep it?

More to the point. If it breaks other things that were working fine before the update, will we still end up stuck with it anyway like last time. Mine's never been the same since the last so called improvements.
Just tried the resume button on Quick Drive and it works..... :) No matter which Quick Drive you select, when you press the resume button it resumes the last one you saved.

Always good to hear such a cheery view Mutely - Thanks

- Several community work arounds to the menu's - Currently running the 2014 vice 2015 - The way the patch is developed and the way the menu systems work - shouldn't be much of a bother to go back to the 2014 if the new UI isn't to my liking
My first impressions so far, after a short run through the menus, are Ok.

I can now search scenarios by name and it finds those that I know for sure couldn't be found before, so that's a very welcome improvement - will help a lot.
Searching for routes also works, in the specific screen for finding routes. Good.

Too bad though that in the scenario list, it still finds scenarios only by scenario-name. It would have been so much more intuitive to me, and faster, if typing something in the search-box would instantly do a search an all available columns of the list: route-name, scenario-name, rolling stock type, difficulty, duration.

That is what has been suggested before and what intuitively I do. Also, searching should span across scenario types, not just be limited to the selected scenario type tab.

Reason why this would help is:
- Often I don't care too much in advance on scenario type, I just want to drive (for instance) the DB BR420. I start searching, cannot find it!
Oops, much scratching of heads, I'm in the wrong scenario type tab!

- There's stock which exists in multiple variations and liveries, as said DB BR420. When I search in the special search page for rolling stock, I will find all liveries - default, plus the ones from the MarketPlace.
However, since I don't yet see scenarios, I don't yet know if the scenario I would like to play is for the red, the orance, the blue, or the airport liveried version!
So if I could search directly from the scenario list for "BR420" and it would match against the rolling stock used in scenario, I would find instantly all my scenarios for all versions and liveries of the DB BR420, and can instantly find the scenario I want, regardless of livery.

- For routes, the argument is perhaps less compelling, except it is just SO much more convinient if I can type "Munich" directly in the scenario list search-box and see all scenarios for all Munich routes rather than go to another page first and then back.

DTG, Please, please, please - go that extra step further and make the scenario search box find on ALL columns, not just the scenario name.

Unifying scenario types of career, standard and free-roam in a single page might be a step too far right now, I can understand if you don't do that right now.

But please, please, do extend the search to all fields in the list! Please.

The whole sim will be just so much more user-friendly, so much quicker to get driving what one wants to drive, get an overview of things which one might consider and browse options.

You'll make a lot of people happy with that.

I say keep the DRIVE button on QUICK DRIVE abd keep the RESUME button on WORKSHOP. Makes my day easier. THANKS, DTG!

Sounds like it would make it more confusing to me.

Why would that be more confusing?
One more thing: Have a way to delete Standard Scenarios. When you delete scenarios from the workshop, it does not delete from the Standard list. THAT would be helpful.
Quick drives are definitely randomised now which is great BUT they seem to always spawn stock from 2014 so if you try to make a scenario set in the past you'll still get stock from 2014.
