Because this game was released in 2006, four years before Steam was released for OS X, and the original devs no longer exist. The current owners of The Ship IP are unable to port this game as they do not own the license that would allow them to modify the game's code itself. Unless Blazing Griffin can somehow obtain the Source licence, the best you can hope for is that they develop a cross-platform sequel.
